Role Overview

The Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 Functional Consultant will be a key member of the technical services team, providing specialized support for legacy Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 environments and Great Plains (GP) ERP modules. This role is critical for maintaining the operational efficiency of our client’s financial and customer relationship management systems. The successful candidate will bridge the gap between business requirements and technical solutions, ensuring that the ERP and CRM systems are optimized to meet the evolving needs of the organization. This position requires a deep understanding of functional workflows, technical troubleshooting, and the ability to work within a global delivery model.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality functional and technical support for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 and Great Plains ERP modules, focusing on system stability and user satisfaction.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex system issues, collaborating with onshore and offshore technical teams to provide timely solutions.
  • Lead and assist in system maintenance activities, including the application of upgrades, patches, and configuration changes to ensure system security and performance.
  • Design, develop, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and custom reports to provide actionable insights and support business operations.
  • Configure and manage system workflows, business rules, and integrations to streamline business processes and improve data accuracy.
  • Provide end-to-end support for users, ranging from resolving basic interface errors to implementing complex functional enhancements.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, support processes, and client-specific business rules to ensure compliance and knowledge sharing.
  • Participate in requirement gathering sessions with stakeholders to translate business needs into functional specifications and technical designs.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including finance, sales, and IT, to ensure seamless integration between ERP modules and other business applications.
  • Monitor system performance and proactively identify areas for improvement or potential risks to system availability.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • A minimum of 6 to 8+ years of professional experience in functional consulting for Microsoft Dynamics CRM and ERP systems.
  • Extensive hands-on experience (at least 5 years) specifically with Great Plains (GP) ERP support and maintenance.
  • Strong functional knowledge of financial modules, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Fixed Assets.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011, including entity customization, workflow creation, and security role management.
  • Advanced SQL skills, with the ability to write complex queries and stored procedures for data analysis and system troubleshooting.
  • Experience working in a global delivery model, with the ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with teams across different geographic locations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to troubleshooting technical and functional issues.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and meeting project deadlines.
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and standard software development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $140,000 – $180,000 per year (Estimated)
