Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Middleware Infrastructure Engineer with expertise in WebSphere/MQ Administration to join our team. This role involves leading and participating in high-level technical concepts, designing and testing complex infrastructure systems, and ensuring the stability and performance of our middleware environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership & Design
- Lead or participate in high-level technical concepts spanning technology and business.
- Develop specifications for complex infrastructure systems, design, and test solutions.
- Contribute to the testing of business, application, and technical infrastructure requirements.
- Drive solutions to reduce recovery time objectives (RTO).
- Review and analyze solutions for cloud security, secrets management, and key rotations.
- Design complex system upgrades.
Development & Implementation
- Design, code, test, debug, and document programs using Agile development practices.
- Resolve troublesome trends as they develop and prevent them from recurring.
- Develop a long-range plan designed to resolve problems and prevent them from recurring.
Operations & Risk Management
- Direct the daily risk and control flow of operations, focusing on policies, procedures, and work standards to ensure success.
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals.
Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years of Technology Infrastructure Engineering and Solutions experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
- 4+ years of hands-on experience at scale on Middleware Messaging environments (IBM MQ, IBM Message Broker (ACE/IIB), KAFKA, Solace) Administration, performing activities such as build, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, deployment, configuration, patching, and compliance.
- 4+ years of experience in Middleware Production Support on Linux and/or Mainframe platforms.
- Ability to interact with all levels of an organization, including leadership.
- Strong team or technical leadership experience.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience in configuring MQ Queue Managers and troubleshooting issues involving MQ Clusters.
- Creating, configuring, and maintaining MQ Objects like Queue Managers, Queues, Channels, Listeners, Topics.
- Good understanding of MQ monitoring tools like IR360.
- Hands-on experience on IBM ACE/IIB.
- Experience with Kafka Connect – worker and connectors (Source and Sink).
- Ability to troubleshoot Authentication and Authorization issues.
- Experience with SSL certificate management.
- Experience in using Ansible jobs.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience supporting an enterprise-level environment.
- Understanding of compliance and risk management requirements for supported system areas.
- Provide implementation support for key risk initiatives.
- Experience with IBM MQ on zOS, zLinux, AIX is a plus.
- Experience with IBM MQ Appliance.
- Understanding of Incident Management Systems (ServiceNow preferred).
- Monitoring Alerts, Batch Failures, Service Now Queue.
- Handle outage calls efficiently, triage any issues, and fix them.
- Experience in Ansible and UDeploy.
- Experience with types of Job Failures and Troubleshooting.
- Linux Administration Basics.
- Basic Networking Commands.
- Understanding of Networking topology, Load Balancers such as F5/AVI.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $110,000 – $150,000 per year (Estimated)
