Role Overview: ML Ops Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data / ML Ops Specialist to join our innovation-driven team in McLean, Virginia. This is a critical hybrid role focused on supporting the data preparation and AI workflow integration for our flagship product. As we move into 2026, the integration of Large Language Models (LLMs) and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines has become central to our technological roadmap. This position is designed for a professional who thrives in high-impact innovation sprints and possesses a deep understanding of how to make AI pipelines performant, secure, and production-ready.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage robust data preparation workflows for structured and unstructured data specifically tailored for RAG pipelines.
- Configure and optimize vector databases and embeddings to ensure high-speed semantic search and retrieval accuracy.
- Collaborate closely with AI engineers to integrate complex data streams into demonstration and validation workflows.
- Maintain pipeline reliability, reproducibility, and observability using modern monitoring tools like Prometheus and CloudWatch.
- Support the infrastructure for model versioning, experimentation, and rapid deployment.
- Ensure all AI data pipelines adhere to strict security and privacy standards, including NIST 800-53 and FedRAMP compliance.
- Work within an agile framework to deliver high-impact results during short-term innovation cycles.
Technical Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of professional experience in ML Ops, Data Engineering, or AI pipeline operations.
- Hands-on experience with AWS Bedrock and the latest Anthropic Claude models (Claude Sonnet 4.5, Haiku 4.5, and Opus 4.5).
- Proficiency in managing PostgreSQL (RDS) and versioned/encrypted AWS S3 storage.
- Strong infrastructure-as-code skills using Terraform, alongside containerization expertise with Docker and AWS ECS Fargate.
- Experience with AWS serverless technologies including Lambda and Event Bridge.
- Deep understanding of security tools such as AWS KMS, Secrets Manager, and IAM role-based access control.
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks like SOC 2, PCI DSS, and NIST 800-53.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $165,000 – $215,000 per year (Estimated)
