Role Overview
Abridge Info Systems Inc is seeking a highly skilled and experienced MMIS Business Analyst for a critical role supporting the State of Massachusetts in Quincy, MA. This is a hybrid position requiring three days of onsite presence each week. As a key member of the Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) team, the Business Analyst will bridge the gap between complex healthcare business needs and technical system implementations. The successful candidate will ensure that all coding schemes and system functionalities align with both the business community’s requirements and the stringent landscape of Federal and state laws. This role demands a professional who can navigate the intricacies of healthcare data, regulatory compliance, and large-scale system stabilization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and facilitate Joint Application Design (JAD) sessions with diverse stakeholders to capture comprehensive business requirements.
- Act as a subject matter expert throughout the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), utilizing Agile methodologies to drive project success.
- Develop and execute robust test strategies, including the creation of detailed test scenarios and test cases based on functional requirements.
- Perform gap analysis to identify discrepancies between current system capabilities and future state needs.
- Collaborate closely with vendors to ensure that business requirements are accurately defined, implemented, and rigorously tested.
- Document complex business processes and support the development of end-user training materials and system documentation.
- Provide oversight during the stabilization phase of system releases, monitoring system change execution and developing fix strategies.
- Conduct data query and analysis to support decision-making and validate system outputs.
- Represent the MMIS functional area in high-level business meetings and provide backup support to other analysts as required.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Extensive knowledge of the healthcare business domain, specifically within the context of Medicaid and MMIS.
- Proven experience in requirements gathering, design, development, and testing within a large-scale IT environment.
- Strong understanding of Federal and state healthcare regulations and their impact on system coding.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Proficiency in SQL or other data analysis tools for querying and validating complex datasets.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Work Environment and Location
This position is based in Quincy, MA, and follows a hybrid schedule requiring three days onsite per week. Due to the requirement for an onsite interview, we are exclusively considering local candidates at this time. Compensation & Location
Salary: $115,000 – $155,000 per year (Estimated)
