Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Mobile Technical Lead to architect, design, and deliver enterprise-grade mobile applications using hybrid and native mobile technologies. This role will lead mobile development squads, define technical standards, and ensure high performance, security, and scalability, while partnering closely with Product, UX, Backend, DevOps, and Security teams to deliver seamless mobile experiences. As a leader in our mobile engineering department, you will be responsible for the technical roadmap of our flagship applications, ensuring that we leverage the latest advancements in mobile technology to provide a world-class user experience.
Technical Leadership & Strategy
- Lead end-to-end mobile application architecture using Ionic + Capacitor for hybrid development and Swift for native iOS components.
- Define mobile development standards, coding guidelines, and best practices to ensure code quality and maintainability across the organization.
- Drive technical decisions related to performance optimization, security protocols, scalability, and long-term maintainability of the mobile codebase.
- Mentor and guide junior and senior developers across both hybrid and native mobile stacks, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
Development & Delivery Excellence
- Perform hands-on development and rigorous code reviews for Angular/AngularJS-based mobile applications to ensure adherence to architectural standards.
- Design and implement custom native plugins using Capacitor to access critical device features such as camera, biometrics, secure storage, and push notifications.
- Integrate mobile applications with complex backend services, RESTful APIs, and third-party SDKs to provide a unified functional experience.
- Ensure strict compliance with App Store guidelines, accessibility standards (WCAG), and enterprise security requirements.
Quality, Performance & Security
- Ensure high-quality, frequent releases through the implementation of automated testing frameworks and robust CI/CD pipelines.
- Implement mobile security best practices, including secure storage, data encryption, multi-factor authentication, and certificate pinning.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues, providing tier-3 support for the mobile app lifecycle and ensuring high availability.
- Stay abreast of the OWASP Mobile Top 10 and other security frameworks to proactively mitigate vulnerabilities in the mobile ecosystem.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate deeply with UX designers to ensure technical feasibility of designs and with Product Owners to define and prioritize the mobile roadmap.
- Work closely with Backend, DevOps, and Security teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of mobile assets.
- Participate actively in all Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release management meetings.
- Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including executive leadership.
Mandatory Technical Requirements
- Extensive experience with Ionic Framework for enterprise-scale mobile application development.
- Proven expertise in Capacitor, including native bridge implementation and custom plugin development.
- Strong proficiency in Angular / AngularJS for mobile UI development and complex state management.
- Deep knowledge of Swift for native iOS development and plugin customization.
- Experience with mobile security standards and enterprise authentication protocols like OAuth2 and OpenID Connect.
Special Requirements
100% Onsite Mandatory; Interview type: Telephonic / video; Domain Experience Preferred: Banking, Financial Services, or Credit Union.
Compensation & Location
Salary: $165,000 – $220,000 per year
