Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and visionary Mobile Test Architect to join our dynamic team in Los Angeles, CA. This is a long-term, high-impact role that requires a blend of technical mastery in mobile automation and strategic leadership. As the primary architect, you will be responsible for defining the future of our quality assurance landscape, specifically focusing on digital state rollouts and complex application upgrades. This position follows a hybrid work model, requiring onsite presence three days a week to foster collaboration with our local engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact between the client and both offshore and onshore consulting teams, ensuring seamless communication and project alignment.
  • Revolutionize the testing lifecycle by integrating Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) to create sophisticated, high-coverage test cases and maintain rigorous traceability.
  • Utilize advanced test management tools and user story repositories to establish comprehensive coverage across all mobile platforms.
  • Standardize the entire test case lifecycle, including writing, peer review, and final approval processes to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Develop and implement a robust, future-proof test automation strategy specifically tailored for large-scale digital rollouts and frequent application upgrades.
  • Design and architect a scalable, maintainable test automation framework that supports complex mobile integrations and diverse device ecosystems.
  • Lead the hands-on development and maintenance of automated test scripts, ensuring they provide maximum value for functional and regression testing cycles.
  • Act as a mentor and technical lead, providing training and guidance to testing teams on how to effectively leverage automation tools and frameworks.
  • Define and execute strategies for test data preparation and management, ensuring data consistency and availability for high-velocity execution.
  • Provide regular, data-driven progress reports to executive stakeholders, ensuring testing efforts remain aligned with broader business objectives.

Technical Requirements and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the mobile application ecosystem, including native and hybrid app architectures. You should have extensive experience with industry-standard automation tools such as Appium, Selenium, and XCUITest/Espresso. A strong background in CI/CD integration is essential, as you will be responsible for ensuring that automated tests are a core part of the deployment pipeline. Furthermore, experience with cloud-based testing platforms like Sauce Labs or BrowserStack is highly preferred. Beyond technical skills, we are looking for an architect who understands the business value of quality and can articulate complex technical strategies to non-technical stakeholders. Your ability to manage global teams and navigate the challenges of offshore/onshore coordination will be critical to your success in this role. We are looking for a leader who stays ahead of industry trends, particularly in the realm of AI-driven testing and automated quality gates.

Work Environment and Culture

Joining our team means working in a fast-paced, innovative environment where your contributions directly impact the success of major digital transformations. We value transparency, continuous learning, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. In this role, you will have the autonomy to shape the testing architecture while receiving the support of a global network of technology professionals. The Los Angeles office offers a collaborative space for the three onsite days, designed to facilitate high-level architectural discussions and team-building. We are committed to fostering a culture of excellence where every team member is empowered to bring their best ideas to the table.
