Job Description: MRI Technical Program Engineer
The MRI Technical Program Engineer will support two key research workstreams focused on the development, refinement, and validation of advanced MRI diffusion imaging methods, including oscillating gradient diffusion techniques and ultra-short echo time (UTE) imaging. These initiatives will be conducted in collaboration with leading academic research institutions and clinical research partners.
This role combines technical engineering responsibilities with program coordination, ensuring successful execution of program deliverables related to MRI pulse sequence development, research software integration, and imaging data processing within a research MRI environment.
The position is ideal for a technically strong engineer who excels in structured execution and cross-team coordination. While hands-on work in sequence development and data workflows is expected, the role does not require independent subject-matter leadership in diffusion MRI research.
Core Responsibilities
- Program and Project Coordination
- Manage end-to-end timelines across multiple research workstreams and ensure progress aligns with program milestones and sprint schedules.
- Track technical documentation, deliverables, risks, and action items from project meetings.
- Facilitate effective communication between internal engineering teams, academic research collaborators, and participating clinical sites.
- Monitor scope execution to ensure alignment with defined project objectives and timelines.
- Support preparation, compliance review, and tracking of research collaboration documentation, agreements, and related administrative requirements.
- Technical Responsibilities
- Support the development and refinement of MRI pulse sequences within a research MRI environment.
- Assist with integration of research software and imaging protocols across participating research sites.
- Contribute to MRI data processing workflows and analysis pipelines used in research imaging studies.
- Participate in testing, validation, and troubleshooting of experimental MRI imaging methods.
- Maintain clear technical documentation for developed methods, workflows, and research outputs.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience with MRI pulse sequence development in a research environment or comparable imaging research platforms.
- Solid understanding of MRI principles, particularly diffusion imaging fundamentals.
- Strong organizational and technical program coordination skills in engineering or research environments.
- Ability to communicate effectively with engineering teams, academic researchers, and clinical stakeholders.
- Experience with MATLAB, Python, or similar tools for MRI data processing and analysis.
Preferred
- Exposure to oscillating gradient diffusion techniques (OGSE/OGD) or other advanced diffusion MRI research methods.
- Familiarity with MRI research interfaces or research development frameworks used for custom sequence implementation.
- Experience working in multi-institution research collaborations or academic-industry partnerships.
Special Requirements
