Job Description: MS SQL DBA

We are seeking an experienced MS SQL DBA to manage and maintain our critical database systems. This is a 100% onsite role, requiring a strong understanding of database operations, performance tuning, and high availability solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day operations of databases including monitoring, backups, and routine maintenance tasks.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database issues such as performance bottlenecks and connectivity problems.
  • Design and implement high availability and disaster recovery solutions for critical databases.
  • Implement and maintain database security measures, including user access controls and data encryption.
  • Plan and assist in database upgrades, patching, and migrations.
  • Collaborate with development teams to optimize database schemas and queries for performance.
  • Document procedures and best practices for database management and maintenance.
  • Install SQL server on standalone and always on clusters.
  • Conduct capacity planning and resource forecasting.

Required Technical Skill Set:

  • MSSQL DBA
  • SQL Server 2019, SQL Server 2016/2017
  • Expertise in database clustering, Always on Availability groups, and failover technologies.
  • Strong understanding of database architecture and design principles.
  • Extensive experience with database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
  • Familiarity with database administration tools for monitoring and maintenance.

Good-to-Have Skills:

  • Client performance troubleshooting, Application Performance Monitoring.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Good communication skills for collaborating with team members and stakeholders.
  • PowerShell scripting for automations.

Experience:

  • 6 – 12 Years of relevant experience.

  • Rosemont, IL (100% Onsite)

Compensation & Location

Salary: $90,000 – $130,000 per year (Estimated)
