About the Role:

.NET Architect position available for an onsite role in San Diego, CA. This is a critical role requiring deep expertise in .NET development, architecture, and integration. The successful candidate will play a key part in designing and guiding the development of robust, scalable, and secure applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Core Full Stack Engineering (approx. 70%):
    • Design, build, and maintain scalable, high-performance application components using modern .NET frameworks.
    • Develop business-critical features across backend and integration layers.
    • Diagnose complex, multi-component technical issues and deliver both short-term mitigations and long-term architectural solutions.
    • Provide expert troubleshooting guidance and continuously improve development and architecture delivery processes.
    • Structure solution approaches, prioritize work effectively, and evaluate risk, cost, and business impact of technical decisions.
    • Security Embedded in Development: Possess strong knowledge of enterprise security architecture (IAM, zero trust, secrets management), integrate security into SDLC, apply system hardening standards, and use secure coding practices within .NET applications.
    • Modernization & Delivery: Support modernization and migration initiatives, contribute to modernizing legacy .NET applications, and balance technical debt reduction with ongoing feature delivery.
  • Architecture & Design (approx. 30%):
    • Solution Architecture: Architect and design end-to-end technical solutions aligning with business objectives. Design robust, scalable, secure, and resilient architectures across application, integration, and data layers. Evaluate architectural decisions’ impact across various domains. Provide architectural guidance embedded within delivery teams.
    • Architectural Foundations & Patterns: Demonstrate strong command of architectural styles and patterns (monoliths, microservices, event-driven, DDD, etc.). Apply patterns pragmatically within .NET systems. Produce clear architectural artifacts (C4 models, UML, ADRs). Define and evaluate quality attribute scenarios.
  • Cloud, Platform & DevOps (Optional/Good to Have):
    • Familiarity with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
    • Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
    • Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
    • Understanding of modern CI/CD practices.
    • Awareness of reliability and operability concepts.
  • Enterprise & Platform Awareness (Optional/Contextual):
    • Awareness of enterprise infrastructure components, middleware, servers, virtualization, networking, storage.
    • Conceptual understanding of network architecture.
    • Familiarity with hybrid environments.
    • High-level understanding of storage and data protection concepts.
  • Governance, Risk & Compliance (Lightweight/Advisory):
    • Participate in threat modeling and architecture risk discussions.
    • Align solution designs with organizational security, compliance, and audit requirements.
    • Contribute to architectural standards and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ Years of strong hands-on proficiency in .NET.
  • 8+ Years of strong hands-on proficiency in relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle).
  • 5+ Years Expertise in API and integration technologies (REST, SOAP, messaging).
  • 5+ Years Hands-on experience implementing APIs and integrations using .NET based services.
  • 8 Years Hands-on experience with integration middleware (message queues, brokers, API gateways).
  • 5+ Years Strong understanding of data architecture (OLTP vs. OLAP, NoSQL, indexing, lifecycle management).
  • 5+ Years Experience designing data integration and migration strategies.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise security architecture.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) is a plus.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration is a plus.
  • Understanding of modern CI/CD practices is a plus.
