Role Overview: .NET Architect with AWS
We are seeking a highly skilled and visionary .NET Architect with extensive AWS expertise to lead a critical digital transformation initiative in Fort Mill, SC. This role is specifically tailored for a professional who has a deep background in the Financial and Banking sectors, as the project involves high-stakes modernization of core financial systems. As a lead architect, you will be responsible for the strategic roadmap and hands-on execution of migrating monolithic legacy applications into a modern, cloud-native, microservices-based architecture on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform.
Key Responsibilities and Strategic Leadership
- Architecture & Design: You will design and implement highly scalable, secure, and resilient cloud-native solutions. This includes the comprehensive refactoring of legacy .NET applications into modular microservices using .NET 6+ and containerization technologies.
- Cloud Modernization: Lead the transition from on-premise infrastructure to AWS, ensuring that all architectural decisions align with the Well-Architected Framework. You will be the primary decision-maker for selecting appropriate AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, S3, and RDS.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Drive the implementation of automated infrastructure provisioning using Terraform. You will ensure that environment consistency is maintained across development, staging, and production through robust IaC practices.
- DevOps & CI/CD: Provide technical leadership to DevOps teams to define and optimize CI/CD pipelines. You will oversee container orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes (EKS), ensuring seamless deployment cycles and high availability.
- Strategic Guidance: Act as a technical mentor to junior and senior developers. You will conduct rigorous code reviews, establish coding standards, and ensure that the team adheres to best practices for security, performance, and cost optimization within the cloud environment.
Technical Requirements and Qualifications
- Core Development: Expert-level proficiency in C#, .NET Core, and .NET 6+. You must have a strong foundation in SQL and database design for high-performance financial applications.
- AWS Ecosystem: Deep hands-on experience with AWS serverless and managed services, including AWS Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, Step Functions, S3, DynamoDB, and RDS.
- Containerization: Extensive experience with Docker and Kubernetes (EKS) for managing microservices at scale.
- Experience Level: A minimum of 15 years of experience in software development, with at least 5 years in a dedicated architectural role.
- Domain Expertise: Proven track record of working with Financial and Banking clients is mandatory. You must understand the regulatory and security complexities inherent in financial software systems.
- Communication: Exceptional communication skills are required to bridge the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $165,000 – $215,000 per year (Estimated)
