Project Overview
We are currently seeking a talented .Net Developer with a strong emphasis on Front-end technologies to join our modernization team in Hanover, VA. The primary focus of this role is the transformation of our flagship cloud-hosted application, BADGE, which is currently hosted on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). We are migrating this critical system from its legacy desktop version to a high-performance, modern web-based architecture. This project requires a developer who can not only write new, cutting-edge code but also dive deep into existing desktop application logic to ensure a seamless transition of business rules and functionality.
Key Responsibilities
- Application Modernization: Analyze and deconstruct the current desktop version of the BADGE application to understand its underlying logic and procedural code. Re-architect these components into a modern web-based framework.
- Front-End Development: Design and develop highly responsive, user-centric web interfaces using ASP.NET MVC, HTML5, CSS3, and Bootstrap. Ensure that the user experience is consistent and optimized for modern browsers.
- Full-Stack Integration: Work closely with lead developers to integrate front-end components with back-end services and Oracle databases. Write complex SQL and PL/SQL queries to manage and manipulate data within the OCI environment.
- Code Quality & Maintenance: Utilize Visual Studio .Net to develop clean, maintainable code in C# and VB.NET. Implement client-side validation using jQuery and jQuery Unobtrusive Validation to enhance application reliability.
- Version Control & Collaboration: Actively participate in Agile development cycles, using TFS and GIT for source control and collaborative development. You will be working in a high-performance team environment alongside other senior contractors and internal leads.
Required Technical Skills
- Core .NET: 6+ years of advanced knowledge in developing ASP.NET, MVC, Web Services, and Web applications within the .NET Framework (C# and VB.NET).
- Database Proficiency: 6+ years of experience working with RDBMS, specifically Oracle, including the ability to write and optimize complex PL/SQL queries.
- Web Technologies: 6+ years of hands-on experience with Bootstrap, jQuery, JavaScript, HTML, XML, and CSS.
- Validation & Tooling: 6+ years of experience with jQuery Unobtrusive Validation and 6+ years using TFS or GIT for source control.
- Legacy Knowledge: 3+ years of experience with WinForms or WPF Forms is required to effectively understand and migrate the existing desktop application code.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as Angular or React is highly desired to support future-state UI enhancements.
- Familiarity with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and cloud-native development patterns.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in the context of legacy system migration.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in an onsite, collaborative team setting.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $115,000 – $155,000 per year (Estimated)
