Job Opportunity: Senior .NET Developer
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced .NET Developer for a contract position based in New York. This role is focused on the design, development, and implementation of complex Case Management Systems (CMS) and integrated web services. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that forms and workflows are mobile-responsive and accessible via mobile devices, enabling features such as case status viewing and document approval. This is a high-impact role requiring a deep understanding of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and modern web technologies.
Core Technical Responsibilities
- Design and implement bi-directional web services to integrate CMS with external portals and process data files from various agencies.
- Build authentication web services to handle internal user authentication via Active Directory (AD) and manage granular user permissions.
- Develop new workflow features to process online submitted forms and support calendaring/scheduling for hearing rooms.
- Create interactive and parameterized reports using SSRS and Crystal Reports, integrating them seamlessly into web applications.
- Develop applications using MVC patterns and apply design patterns such as Façade, Factory, and Singleton for scalability.
- Utilize Database Access Application Block (DAAB) and Exception Handling Application Block (EHAP) for robust data access and error management.
- Code using a modern technology stack including C#, ASP.NET, .NET Core, SQL Server 2019, Angular 8, and REST/SOAP Web Services.
- Develop scanning and audio/video recording services compatible with modern browsers like Microsoft Edge.
- Conduct rigorous unit testing and Test-Driven Development (TDD) to ensure high code quality and compliance with design specifications.
Mandatory Skills and Experience
Candidates must have a minimum of 4 years of professional experience in backend and frontend technologies. Mandatory backend skills include strong proficiency in C#, ASP.NET MVC, and .NET Core. Deep experience with Entity Framework (EF Core or EF 6) using Code First or Database First approaches is required, along with the ability to write optimized LINQ queries. Proficiency in SQL Server 2019, including database design and performance tuning, is essential. On the frontend, candidates must have solid knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), and in-depth experience with Angular 8 for building Single Page Applications (SPAs). Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD practices using tools like Azure DevOps or Jenkins is also required.
Preferred Qualifications and Soft Skills
While not mandatory, experience with Microservices Architecture and containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes is highly desirable. Proven experience in performance optimization for both frontend and backend systems will be a significant advantage. Beyond technical skills, the candidate must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, executives, and managers. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are required to troubleshoot complex issues and devise optimal technical solutions.
Additional Requirements
This position requires the candidate to be local to the New York area and possess a valid Driver’s License (DL). The interview process includes an onsite component in New York. This is a contract-based role with a focus on delivering high-quality, maintainable, and performant code within a collaborative team environment.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $130,000 – $170,000 per year (Estimated)
