Role Overview and Strategic Impact
The .NET Developer will join a high-performing, collaborative team dedicated to the modernization and maintenance of a large-scale public sector enterprise information system. This is a mission-critical role that involves supporting state-level infrastructure, requiring a developer who is not only technically proficient but also understands the nuances of public sector service delivery. As we move into 2026, the demand for robust, secure, and scalable government applications has never been higher. This position offers the opportunity to work on a project with significant social impact, ensuring that state services remain accessible and efficient for all citizens. The successful candidate will be responsible for the full software development life cycle, from initial technical design and architectural planning to hands-on coding, integration, and long-term production support.
Technical Responsibilities and Engineering Excellence
- Design and develop sophisticated backend solutions using C# and the .NET framework, ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end.
- Implement full-stack features, bridging the gap between server-side logic and user-facing elements to create a seamless end-user experience.
- Leverage Microsoft Word automation and document generation frameworks to streamline complex administrative workflows within the state client environment.
- Manage and optimize SQL Server databases, writing complex queries and stored procedures to handle large volumes of public sector data.
- Integrate SharePoint solutions to enhance document management and internal collaboration capabilities.
- Utilize Azure DevOps and Git for version control, participating in rigorous code reviews and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in a multi-user production environment, maintaining system stability and reliability.
Professional Requirements and Domain Expertise
The ideal candidate will possess a four-year degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. We are specifically looking for a minimum of five years of professional experience as a C#/.NET developer. Experience within legislative or government environments is highly desirable, as the role requires a quick understanding of legislative processes and business operations. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a team-oriented environment. Strong communication skills are essential for translating business requirements into technical specifications.
