Job Title: Network Administrator

We are seeking an experienced Network Administrator to join our team for an onsite role in Miami, FL. This is a 6-month contract position with the potential for extension.

Responsibilities:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Cisco routing and switching platforms (IOS upgrades, core/access layer architecture).
  • Proven experience upgrading Arista, and Palo Alto network equipment and configurations.
  • Strong experience with Cisco IOS/XE, Arista EOS, and network automation tools.
  • Hands-on experience with SD-WAN technologies and centralized management platforms.
  • Solid understanding of routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP) and Layer 2 technologies (VLANs, STP).
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., NetScout, Cisco DNAC, NetFlow, SNMP).
  • Proficiency with network automation tools, particularly Ansible, for configuration management and deployment automation.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, VLANs, routing, switching, and firewall policy management.
  • Experience managing ruggedized network equipment in industrial or utility environments (preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage incident and problem tickets with strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with project planning, scheduling, and execution.
  • Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Availability to participate in On-Call rotation for 24/7 operational support.
  • Experience with network security concepts and integration with firewalls and NAC.
  • Certifications such as CCNP, Arista ACE, CWNA, or SD-WAN vendor certifications are a plus.
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
  • Experience with NetFlow, SNMP, and Syslog for monitoring.

Infrastructure Modernization & Upgrades:

  • Lead network infrastructure upgrade projects across enterprise environments.
  • Upgrade Cisco, Arista, and Palo Alto network devices to Gold Standard versions, including core switches, access switches, routers, and firewalls.
  • Manage and upgrade substation power grid Cisco rugged switches/routers supporting critical energy operations.
  • Leverage automation tools such as Ansible to streamline upgrade processes, ensure consistency, and improve operational efficiency.

Operational Support & Service Management:

  • Respond to and resolve incident tickets during business hours, ensuring timely restoration of network services.
  • Participate in 24/7 On-Call rotation to provide after-hours support for urgent network issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex network problems.
  • Investigate and document root causes for problem tickets, developing permanent solutions to prevent recurrence.
  • Provision network resources including VLANs, switch ports, server connectivity, routing configurations, and firewall rules via Work Order (WO) fulfillment.

Project Planning & Execution:

  • Develop detailed project plans for network upgrades and infrastructure maintenance.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to schedule maintenance windows and minimize business impact.
  • Document network configurations, upgrade procedures, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Provide status updates and communicate project progress to leadership and technical teams.
  • Ensure compliance with change management processes and regulatory requirements.

Special Requirements

On-Call rotation required. Certifications such as CCNP, Arista ACE, CWNA, or SD-WAN vendor certifications are a plus.


Compensation & Location

Salary: $70,000 – $100,000 per year (Estimated)
