Position Summary
We are looking for a strategic and highly experienced Senior Network Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of complex network infrastructures in a hybrid environment based in Columbus, OH. This role is critical for ensuring the stability, security, and scalability of our enterprise network services. You will be a key technical leader, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including IT leadership, clinical stakeholders, and project managers to deliver robust networking solutions.
Core Responsibilities
- Architect and manage complex Network Address Translation (NAT) configurations to facilitate secure and efficient traffic routing across diverse enterprise systems.
- Design and implement advanced firewall policies that align with modern security frameworks and strict compliance mandates.
- Lead the administration and performance tuning of VMware NSX and other Software-Defined Networking (SDN) platforms.
- Oversee the lifecycle management of load-balancer groups to ensure high availability and fault tolerance for mission-critical applications.
- Act as a strategic advisor to cross-functional teams, translating complex business and clinical requirements into scalable network architectures.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including topology diagrams, change logs, and compliance records for auditing purposes.
- Proactively identify and resolve network performance bottlenecks and security vulnerabilities.
- Mentor junior engineering staff and provide technical guidance on best practices for network design and operations.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in enterprise networking with a focus on architecture and large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Expert-level knowledge of network protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), VLAN design, and firewall architectures.
- Hands-on experience with VMware NSX, including micro-segmentation and network automation.
- Proficiency with enterprise load balancing technologies (e.g., F5, Citrix ADC).
- Strong understanding of hybrid cloud networking and connectivity solutions.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working within healthcare IT environments and familiarity with HIPAA compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Relevant industry certifications such as CCIE, VCDX-NV, or equivalent.
- Experience with automation tools and scripting (Python, Ansible) for network configuration management.
This is a hybrid role requiring local presence in Columbus, OH. The position offers a 12+ month duration with the potential for extension, providing a stable and challenging environment for a seasoned network professional.
Special Requirements
Locals highly preferred; Hybrid work mode; Healthcare IT domain experience desirable.
Compensation & Location
Salary: $165,000 – $205,000 per year (Estimated)
