Role Overview: Network Core Data Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Core Data Engineer to join our infrastructure team in Raleigh, NC. This role is critical for maintaining and evolving our enterprise network architecture, ensuring high availability, security, and performance across all infrastructure services. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Cisco technologies, network automation, and security protocols.
Key Responsibilities and Technical Requirements
- Cisco ISE Architecture: Lead the configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting of Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE). You will be responsible for policy management, guest access, and profiling to ensure secure network access control.
- Network Access Control (NAC): Manage Forescout NAC solutions to provide visibility and control over all devices connecting to the enterprise network.
- DDI Management: Administer Infoblox for DNS, DHCP, and IPAM (DDI) services. Ensure the reliability of core network services and maintain accurate IP address tracking.
- Load Balancing: Configure and manage F5 BIG-IP solutions, including Local Traffic Manager (LTM), Global Traffic Manager (GTM), and BIG-IQ for centralized management. Optimize application delivery and traffic distribution.
- Data Center Fabric: Design and deploy Cisco ACI (Application Centric Infrastructure) using a Leaf-Spine fabric architecture. Manage multi-pod and multi-site environments to support modern data center requirements.
- DNS Automation: Utilize IBM NS1 Connect or similar platforms for advanced DNS traffic management and automation to enhance global application performance.
- Time Synchronization: Administer Microchip NTP (Network Time Protocol) equipment to ensure precise time synchronization across the entire network infrastructure.
- Network Testing: Use Ixia network testing tools to simulate traffic, validate performance, and perform deep-dive troubleshooting of complex network issues.
- Network Automation: Drive efficiency through automation using Gluware and Ansible. Develop playbooks and workflows to automate repetitive tasks, configuration management, and compliance auditing.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing large-scale enterprise networks. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and possess strong analytical skills to resolve intricate connectivity and performance problems. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including security and cloud operations, is essential for success in this role. We value continuous learning and expect the engineer to stay updated with the latest trends in software-defined networking (SDN) and infrastructure-as-code (IaC).

Compensation & Location
Salary: $130,000 – $175,000 per year
