Role Overview
Quantum World Technologies Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Network Data Engineer for a critical contract position based onsite in West Palm Beach, Florida. This role is designed for a technical expert who thrives in hands-on environments, managing complex network infrastructures from the ground up. The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of network components, including racking, stacking, and full-scale configuration. This position requires a deep understanding of Cisco ecosystems, Arista platforms, and Palo Alto security appliances, ensuring that our client’s enterprise and industrial network environments remain robust, secure, and highly available.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead comprehensive network infrastructure modernization and upgrade projects across diverse enterprise environments.
- Perform hands-on hardware management, including racking, stacking, and cabling of network devices from ‘count zero’.
- Execute firmware and software upgrades for Cisco, Arista, and Palo Alto devices to align with established Gold Standard versions.
- Manage and maintain ruggedized network equipment within substation power grids, supporting critical energy operations and utility infrastructure.
- Utilize network automation tools, specifically Ansible, to streamline deployment processes and ensure configuration consistency across the fleet.
- Provide high-tier operational support by responding to and resolving complex incident tickets during standard business hours.
- Participate in a mandatory 24/7 on-call rotation to ensure continuous operational support for urgent network outages or performance issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional IT and security teams to troubleshoot multi-layered network problems and implement permanent fixes.
- Provision network resources such as VLANs, switch ports, and firewall rules through formal Work Order fulfillment processes.
- Develop and maintain exhaustive technical documentation, including network diagrams, SOPs, and upgrade procedures.
Technical Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with Cisco routing and switching platforms, including core and access layer architecture.
- Proven expertise in upgrading and configuring Arista EOS and Palo Alto network security equipment.
- Strong proficiency in routing protocols including OSPF, BGP, and EIGRP, alongside Layer 2 technologies like STP and VLAN management.
- Direct experience with SD-WAN technologies and centralized management platforms for distributed enterprise networks.
- Advanced knowledge of network monitoring and analysis tools such as NetScout, Cisco DNAC, NetFlow, and SNMP.
- Demonstrated experience using Ansible for configuration management and the automation of repetitive network tasks.
- Familiarity with managing network security concepts, including firewall policy management and Network Access Control (NAC) integration.
- Experience in industrial or utility environments, particularly with ruggedized hardware, is highly preferred.
- Relevant industry certifications such as CCNP, Arista ACE, CWNA, or specialized SD-WAN certifications.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $140,000 – $195,000 per year (Estimated)
