Job Summary:
The County of Sacramento is seeking a skilled Network Engineer for a 100% onsite role. This position involves the configuration, installation, and maintenance of network equipment, supporting day-to-day network operations, and assisting with new projects and upgrades. The ideal candidate will have Cisco Associate-level experience and strong analytical skills.
Responsibilities:
- Configure, install, and maintain routers, switches, voice gateways, access points, and microwave radio equipment.
- Support day-to-day network operations, including troubleshooting, monitoring, and incident response.
- Assist with the implementation of new projects and upgrades.
- Maintain accurate documentation of network diagrams, configurations, and processes.
- Work independently and collaboratively to support network availability and performance.
Qualifications / Experience:
- Cisco Associate-level experience.
- Hands-on expertise with Cisco and non-Cisco routers and switches.
- Experience with microwave radios and wireless access points.
- Knowledge of the OSI model and Cisco three-layer hierarchical model.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize and execute tasks with minimal supervision.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexible and adaptable to new tools, technologies, and environments.
- CCNA certification is a plus.
- Must be local to California only.
- Valid Driver’s License required.
