Job Description: Network Engineer & Sr AWS Infrastructure Engineer
We are looking for a highly skilled Network Engineer and a Sr. AWS Infrastructure Engineer to join our team. These roles are critical for managing and enhancing our network and cloud infrastructure, supporting Data Science, AI/ML initiatives.
Network Engineer Responsibilities:
- Provide L3 troubleshooting support for managed security devices, including Firewalls.
- Maintain and operate firewall security management platforms, including OS upgrades.
- Assess security advisories and software vulnerabilities, developing mitigation plans.
- Develop and maintain support and user documentation and processes.
- Identify and implement automation opportunities for repetitive processes.
- Manage incident, change, and problem management.
- Possess technical hands-on experience in network security operations management.
- Demonstrate strong technical ability to troubleshoot in large enterprises with complex network application flows.
- Experience with Cisco wireless implementation and troubleshooting.
- Implementation and troubleshooting related to Zscaler SDWAN, ZPA, ZIA, ZCC.
- Configuration of policies, IP Sec VPN, DHCP pools, host entries, SSLVPN settings, and SSLVPN portals in Firewalls.
- Experience with Cisco Switches Replacement and IOS upgrade.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in Network Domain (Routing, Switching, Firewalls, Load Balancers, VPN, Zscaler, SDWAN).
Sr AWS Infrastructure Engineer Responsibilities:
- Support ongoing Data Science Infrastructure operations.
- Develop and deploy AWS environments using CI/CD processes.
- Manage and support large-scale environments for Data Science teams.
- Champion and mature the environment by implementing and overseeing the image management lifecycle process.
- Assist in setting up and managing AWS accounts specifically for the Data Science platform.
- Provide hands-on development using CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps.
- Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform for environment setup and management.
- Develop scripts and applications using programming languages such as Python.
- Manage database technologies including Athena, Oracle, MySQL, and Postgres.
- Leverage AWS services essential for Data Lake, Data Science, AI/ML teams (e.g., EKS, ECR, SageMaker, Lambda, Athena, Glue).
- Handle and resolve requests from development and business users.
- Manage secured infrastructure, enforce security measures, and apply necessary guardrails.
- Resolve infrastructure vulnerabilities within SLAs and maintain audit logs.
- Perform system upgrades and patching, providing on-call support as needed.
- Conduct root cause analysis and knowledge transfer sessions.
- Collaborate with Network, Database, Infrastructure, and Architecture teams.
- Manage and operate AWS EKS clusters hosting Data Science platforms (e.g., Shakudo, SAS Viya).
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
- Provision and manage AWS infrastructure using Terraform.
- Manage container image lifecycle via Amazon ECR.
- Support Data Scientists by unblocking infrastructure issues.
Qualifications:
- Network Engineer: Minimum 7 years of experience in network domain. Certifications in Azure, AWS, Firewall, Load Balancer, Zscaler, Cisco are a plus.
- Sr AWS Infrastructure Engineer: Bachelors degree in computer science or related field. 2+ years of experience in Data Science Infrastructure. Extensive experience with AWS services (EKS, ECR, SageMaker, Lambda, Athena, Glue), CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps), IaC tools (Terraform), Docker, ECR, and security tools. Experience with Kubernetes administration is essential.
- For Senior roles: Architects and owns EKS cluster design. Writes and owns Terraform modules. Designs security and IAM strategy. Leads incident response and RCA. CKA + AWS DevOps Pro certification expected or in progress.
This is a contract-to-hire position after 3 months. We are looking for engineers who have spent the majority of their career building, operating, and maintaining cloud infrastructure on AWS.
Special Requirements
Onsite 5 days. Contract duration: 6 months. Contract to Hire after 3 months. Requires 15 years mandatory experience for specific roles mentioned in subject line, but detailed description implies less for core responsibilities. Locals for Columbus, OH and Dallas, TX.
Compensation & Location
Salary: $110,000 – $160,000 per year (Estimated)
