Position Summary

We are looking for an experienced Network Security Engineer to join our technical team for a long-term engagement. This role is a hybrid opportunity based in either Chicago, IL or Atlanta, GA. The successful candidate will be instrumental in securing our enterprise infrastructure through advanced firewall management and robust network engineering. This position requires a proactive professional who can handle both high-level architectural design and granular troubleshooting of security protocols. As a Lead Recruiter at Tekskills, I am looking for candidates who are ready to hit the ground running in a high-stakes environment.

Core Responsibilities

  • Architect and manage network security frameworks using Palo Alto Firewalls, ensuring all traffic is inspected and secured according to corporate policy.
  • Implement and support GlobalProtect VPN solutions to facilitate secure, high-performance remote connectivity for employees and partners.
  • Maintain and optimize Cisco LAN infrastructure, focusing on switching and routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, and EIGRP.
  • Act as a primary responder for network security incidents, utilizing forensic analysis to prevent future vulnerabilities.
  • Configure and audit firewall policies, NAT rules, and security profiles to maintain a zero-trust security posture.
  • Support the deployment and management of SD-WAN technologies to improve branch connectivity and reduce latency.
  • Execute critical infrastructure projects, including network segmentation and the replacement of end-of-life switching hardware.
  • Conduct regular network performance assessments and capacity planning to ensure the infrastructure meets future scalability needs.
  • Collaborate with internal audit and compliance teams to ensure all network configurations meet regulatory standards.
  • Partner with cross-functional IT teams to facilitate seamless network migrations and system upgrades.
  • Produce high-quality technical documentation, including network maps and incident reports.

Required Qualifications

The candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline. Extensive experience with Palo Alto Firewalls (PAN-OS) is a core requirement for this role. You should have a proven track record of configuring and troubleshooting GlobalProtect VPN in an enterprise setting. Expertise in Cisco routing and switching (VLANs, STP, OSPF, BGP) is essential. We are looking for someone with a deep understanding of SD-WAN solutions and network monitoring tools. Professional certifications such as PCNSE or CCNP Security are highly preferred. Experience in multi-site or global enterprise environments is a major advantage. Additionally, exposure to cloud networking platforms like AWS or Azure will help you succeed in our evolving hybrid infrastructure.

Submission Requirements

Please note that for this specific client submission, a valid Passport number is required at the time of application to verify work authorization and facilitate the onboarding process.
