Role Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled Node.js Developer to join our dynamic engineering team in Des Moines, IA. This is a W2 position designed for a backend specialist who thrives in a cloud-native environment. As a core member of the development group, you will be responsible for architecting and implementing high-performance server-side logic, ensuring the seamless integration of front-end elements with the backend infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the JavaScript ecosystem and a passion for building scalable systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop robust, scalable, and maintainable backend services using Node.js and TypeScript.
- Build and optimize RESTful APIs with Express.js to support various client-side applications.
- Implement data storage solutions using MongoDB, focusing on efficient schema design and query performance.
- Leverage AWS services including Lambda, S3, EC2, and DynamoDB to build serverless and containerized applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
- Ensure high code quality through unit testing, code reviews, and adherence to best practices.
- Troubleshoot and debug complex issues across the entire application stack.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve our development processes.
Technical Environment
The successful candidate will work within a modern tech stack centered around JavaScript and TypeScript. Our infrastructure is heavily reliant on Amazon Web Services (AWS), requiring a deep understanding of cloud architecture. You will be working with event-driven architectures and asynchronous programming patterns to handle high-concurrency workloads. Version control is managed via Git, and we follow Agile methodologies to ensure rapid and iterative delivery of software components. Qualifications and Skills
- Extensive experience with Node.js and the JavaScript ecosystem.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $110,000 – $145,000 per year (Estimated)
