Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled NPI (New Product Introduction) Engineering Technician to join our team in Santa Clara, CA. This onsite role is critical for the successful transition of new products from the design phase into full-scale manufacturing. You will be working specifically on the Shockwave project, providing essential technical support during prototype builds, pilot runs, and engineering trials. The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, combined with a meticulous approach to documentation and process validation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the assembly and testing of prototype units, ensuring all builds meet engineering specifications.
  • Assist in the setup of manufacturing equipment, including tooling changes and process adjustments tailored for new product lines.
  • Execute Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), and Performance Qualification (PQ) validation tasks under the direct guidance of the engineering team.
  • Perform both preventive and corrective maintenance on complex manufacturing equipment to minimize downtime during critical NPI runs.
  • Troubleshoot a wide range of issues involving mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and automation systems.
  • Document all trial results, process deviations, and observations with high accuracy to facilitate data-driven decision-making.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality assurance, and production, to ensure a smooth product transfer.
  • Assist in the implementation of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and provide feedback on early-stage process or equipment issues.

Qualifications and Skills

Candidates should have a proven track record as a technician in a high-tech manufacturing environment. Experience with NPI processes and validation protocols (IQ/OQ/PQ) is highly desirable. You must be proficient in reading technical drawings and schematics, and have hands-on experience with various diagnostic tools. Strong communication skills are required to effectively report findings to the engineering team and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $99,840 – $141,440 per year (Estimated)
