Role Overview

The State of Florida is seeking a highly experienced and certified Senior ServiceNow Consultant to join the Florida PALM project in Tallahassee. This is a long-term, on-site engagement requiring a minimum of 13 to 15 years of professional IT experience, with a specialized focus on the ServiceNow platform. The successful candidate will lead the configuration, design, and development of ServiceNow modules tailored to meet the specific requirements of the Department. This role is critical for the design, development, implementation, and production support of the Florida PALM initiative.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and perform ServiceNow IT Service Management (ITSM) and Customer Service Management (CSM) upgrades, including module configuration and integration testing.
  • Develop and configure complex ServiceNow workflows and flows to automate business processes.
  • Implement and manage Case Management, Major Case Management, Change Management, and Incident Management modules.
  • Design and maintain the Self-Service Portal (Customer) and Technician Portal (Employee) to enhance user experience.
  • Configure Service Level Management, Workflow/Flow and Rules Management, and Configuration Management.
  • Develop and deliver training and knowledge transfer sessions related to ServiceNow functionality to Department staff.
  • Perform comprehensive testing, including new feature testing, regression, smoke, and release testing.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of application design and code generation techniques.
  • Participate in defect management and triage functions, working cross-functionally to resolve issues.

Technical Requirements

  • Mandatory Certifications: Certified System Administrator (CSA) and Certified Application Developer (CAD).
  • Preferred Certifications: CIS-ITSM and CIS-CSM.
  • Expertise in JavaScript, HTML, XML, JSON, and SQL for platform customization.
  • Extensive experience implementing security policies using ACLs, roles, groups, and authentication mechanisms.
  • Proven track record of integrating ServiceNow with Microsoft and third-party systems like Oracle and SSO.
  • Experience with data extractions, conversions, and performance tuning within the ServiceNow environment.
  • Knowledge of State and Federal laws applicable to IT solution implementation.

Project Environment

This position is located on-site in Tallahassee, Florida. Telecommuting is not an option. The consultant will work under the direction of the Project Operations Manager and collaborate closely with the ServiceNow Admin and Solution Center Manager. Candidates must be prepared for a Level Two (2) background screening standard. The project follows Agile/Scrum methodologies, requiring strong communication skills and the ability to interact with leadership and technical stakeholders effectively.


Special Requirements

CSA and CAD Certifications Mandatory. Level Two (2) background screening required. Web Cam interview mode. No telecommuting allowed. Government domain experience preferred.


Compensation & Location

Salary: $130,000 – $155,000 per year (Estimated)

Location: Tallahassee, FL
