Position Summary
We are currently looking for an experienced Optimization Modeling Gurobi GCP Architect to join our team in a hybrid or remote capacity, based out of Piscataway, NJ. This role is critical for our data science and operations research initiatives, focusing on the formulation and solution of complex mathematical models to optimize manufacturing and distribution processes. As an architect, you will be responsible for designing the technical framework that supports large-scale optimization solvers within a Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment. This position requires a unique blend of mathematical expertise, programming proficiency, and cloud architecture skills to drive efficiency in high-stakes industries such as pharmaceutical manufacturing.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of optimization models using the Gurobi Optimization Solver to solve business-critical problems.
- Utilize the Gurobi Python API (gurobipy) to develop, test, and deploy sophisticated mathematical models.
- Formulate and solve complex linear programming (LP), integer programming (IP), and mixed-integer programming (MIP) problems.
- Ensure model robustness and perform rigorous debugging to maintain the integrity of optimization outputs.
- Develop high-quality Python code for data processing, model integration, and automation.
- Write and optimize SQL queries to manage and extract input data from relational databases.
- Perform extensive data pre-preparation and analysis using libraries such as Pandas and NumPy.
- Architect and manage GCP-based solutions to host and scale optimization workloads effectively.
Required Skills and Experience
- 8 to 10 years of professional experience in data science, operations research, or software architecture.
- Deep proficiency in Optimization Modeling and the Gurobi solver.
- Expert-level Python programming skills, specifically for data science and mathematical modeling.
- Strong SQL skills for data management and querying.
- Extensive experience with GCP (Google Cloud Platform) as a Solution Architect.
- Ability to handle large datasets and perform complex data transformations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on mathematical precision.
Preferred Domain Knowledge
- Understanding of scientific manufacturing processes, particularly in the context of vaccines and medicines.
- Previous experience working with supply chain and distribution data within the healthcare or pharmaceutical sectors.
- Familiarity with digital transformation initiatives in manufacturing environments.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $180,000 – $250,000 per year (Estimated)
