Job ID: JOB_ID_7693

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) Functional Consultant to join our team. This role is crucial for migrating manual test scripts to automated testing, acting as the functional Subject Matter Expert (SME) for EAM, SCM, and Inventory modules. You will lead the shift-left testing strategy, modernizing test assets, designing reusable automation components, and improving quality velocity across projects and releases. This is a hybrid role requiring 5 days a week onsite in our Downtown Houston office. Ideally, we are looking for Houston local candidates, but Texas locals willing to relocate will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

Functional (70%):

  • Process & Requirements: Lead workshops to capture business requirements, process gaps, and pain points across EAM, SCM, and Inventory modules. Translate business needs into functional designs, test scenarios, acceptance criteria, and user stories.
  • Solutioning & Configuration: Provide best-practice guidance and hands-on configuration for EBS EAM, Purchasing/Order Management within SCM, and Inventory. Drive fit-gap analysis, functional design documentation (MD50/BR100), and cross-module impact assessments.
  • Testing & Quality: Define end-to-end test strategies for enhancements, patches, and upgrades (e.g., R12.2.x). Curate and optimize manual test cases to make them automation-ready (parameterized, modular, reusable). Manage UAT, coordinate business sign-offs, and ensure traceability from requirements to test results.
  • Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary liaison with business process owners, project managers, and QA leads. Communicate project status, risks, mitigation plans, and go-live readiness.

Technical (30%):

  • Opkey Test Automation: Lead the migration of manual test scripts to Opkey. Create automation blueprints, modular test components, object repositories, data-driven tests, and CI/CD-friendly suites. Maintain automation across environments; implement self-healing and change-impact assessment where supported. Integrate Opkey with defect tracking and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Azure DevOps/Jenkins).
  • Data & Defects: Build test data sets; support mock/stub strategies; triage defects with root-cause analysis. Perform light SQL for data validation, reconciliations, and audit support.
  • Technical Collaboration: Work with developers on RICEW objects, basic PL/SQL reviews, APIs/integrations touchpoints, and performance considerations. Support environment planning, refresh coordination, and patch testing.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Experience with Oracle EAM, Supply Chain, and Inventory modules – must have all 3.
  • Strong functional testing background.
  • Exposure to test automation tools (preferably Opkey).
  • Ability to run basic SQL queries.
  • Experience working with defect tracking platforms like Panaya.

Work Schedule:

Monday – Thursday, 7:30 am – 5:30 pm; Friday, 7:30 am – 12:30 pm.

Contract Details:

6 months, with potential for extension.
