Position Summary
Our client, a prominent leader in the commercial banking sector, is seeking a Senior Oracle EPM Technical Application Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join their team in Quincy, MA. This is a hybrid role requiring onsite presence twice per week. The successful candidate will serve as a critical technical lead, supporting and enhancing Oracle EPM Cloud applications across the enterprise. You will partner closely with Finance, Accounting, and FP&A teams to design, build, and optimize scalable EPM solutions that drive strategic decision-making. This role demands a deep technical understanding of the Oracle EPM Cloud suite, combined with the ability to align technology with complex financial business processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement end-to-end planning processes within EPM Planning and EPBCS, including driver-based planning, scenario modeling, and complex workflows.
- Develop and maintain sophisticated calculation scripts, business rules, and Essbase artifacts, ensuring high performance and scalability.
- Lead the technical design of metadata management strategies using EDMCS, DRM, or DRG to ensure data integrity across the EPM landscape.
- Perform rigorous performance tuning of calculation rules to ensure efficient execution at scale, avoiding common pitfalls in large-scale enterprise environments.
- Integrate General Ledger (GL) and other upstream finance data sources into EPM applications using Data Management and other integration patterns.
- Support on-premise to EPM Cloud migrations, including the refactoring of legacy artifacts and the implementation of modern best practices.
- Serve as the primary technical SME for production support, addressing break/fix issues and implementing small-to-medium enhancements.
- Produce high-quality technical documentation, including solution designs, training materials, and knowledge transfer documents for internal stakeholders.
Technical Requirements
- 10+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle EPM, with a significant focus on Oracle EPM Cloud (EPBCS, FCCS, EDMCS).
- Expert-level proficiency in building and maintaining business rules, calc scripts, and Groovy scripts for complex financial logic.
- Strong experience with metadata management tools such as DRM or EDMCS, including hierarchy management and workflow design.
- Proven ability to design planning cycles and business processes, not just build technical rules.
- Experience with automation scripting using PowerShell, Batch, or Python to orchestrate data loads and system integrations.
- Deep understanding of financial consolidation and close processes (FCCS/HFM) and their integration with planning modules.
Soft Skills and Domain Expertise
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working within the commercial banking or financial services domain. You must possess exceptional communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical business partners in Finance and Accounting. You should be comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and delivering high-quality results against tight deadlines. A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to continuous learning in the evolving Oracle EPM landscape are essential for success in this role.

Hybrid work model (2 days onsite in Quincy, MA); Domain restriction: Commercial Banking.
Compensation & Location
Salary: $160,000 – $210,000 per year (Estimated)
