Role Overview
Absolute IT is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Oracle EPM Technical Application Consultant / Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join a premier organization in Boston, MA. This is a critical onsite role designed to support, optimize, and enhance the enterprise’s Oracle EPM Cloud ecosystem. As a technical leader, you will bridge the gap between complex technical architectures and strategic financial objectives, partnering closely with Finance, Accounting, and FP&A teams to deliver scalable, high-performance planning and consolidation solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and implement end-to-end planning processes within Oracle EPM Cloud (EPBCS/Planning), including driver-based forecasting, scenario modeling, and complex workflow design.
- Serve as the primary technical SME for production support, addressing high-priority break/fix issues and leading enhancement projects to improve system reliability.
- Develop, tune, and maintain sophisticated Business Rules, Calc Scripts, and Groovy rules, with a relentless focus on calculation performance optimization and block/aggregation strategy.
- Manage metadata hierarchies and data integrity using EDMCS, DRM, or DRG, ensuring seamless alignment across enterprise systems.
- Design and orchestrate automated data integration patterns using Data Management, PowerShell, and Batch scripting to streamline GL data loads and reconciliation controls.
- Lead the migration and refactoring of artifacts from legacy on-premise EPM solutions to the Oracle EPM Cloud environment.
- Produce comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, system architecture diagrams, and training materials for knowledge transfer.
Technical Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of dedicated Oracle EPM experience, with a significant portion focused on Oracle EPM Cloud applications.
- Deep hands-on expertise in EPBCS, Planning, Essbase, and FCCS (or HFM).
- Proven proficiency in metadata management tools such as EDMCS, DRM, or DRG.
- Expert-level skills in scripting for automation, specifically PowerShell and Batch (Python experience is a major plus).
- Strong background in integrating diverse GL data sources and implementing robust validation controls.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for executive finance stakeholders.
Work Environment & Culture
This position is based onsite in Boston, MA. While local candidates are preferred and will receive first consideration for interviews, the organization is open to relocation for exceptional talent. The environment is fast-paced and collaborative, requiring a consultant who can take ownership of the EPM roadmap and drive continuous improvement across the finance technology stack.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $145,000 – $195,000 per year (Estimated)
