Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Engineer specializing in Oracle Health Cloud to join a transformative project for a major midwestern health network. This role is pivotal in building an enterprise-grade analytics foundation that leverages the full power of Oracle Health Data Intelligence (HDI) on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). As a senior member of the engineering team, you will be responsible for the end-to-end design, development, and optimization of data pipelines that drive critical healthcare insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement robust data architectures within the Oracle Health Data Intelligence (HDI) ecosystem.
- Develop complex ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, transform, and load healthcare data from disparate sources into OCI.
- Integrate Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC) with HDI to provide seamless data visualization and advanced reporting capabilities.
- Ensure data governance, security, and compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA.
- Collaborate with clinical stakeholders to define data requirements for predictive analytics and clinician-facing scorecards.
- Optimize data models for high-performance querying and large-scale data processing.
- Troubleshoot and resolve performance bottlenecks in data pipelines and cloud infrastructure.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the establishment of best practices for data engineering within the organization.
Technical Environment
The successful candidate will work extensively with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), focusing on the Health Data Intelligence (HDI) module. You will utilize Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC) for front-end delivery and reporting. The environment demands a deep understanding of cloud-native data services, SQL optimization, and healthcare data standards (such as HL7 or FHIR). Your work will directly impact the network’s ability to perform regulatory reporting and deliver real-time clinical insights.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in data engineering, with at least 3 years focused on Oracle Cloud technologies.
- Proven expertise in Oracle Health Data Intelligence (HDI) and Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC).
- Strong proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and Python or Java for data manipulation.
- Experience with OCI services including Object Storage, Autonomous Database, and Data Integration.
- Background in healthcare analytics is highly preferred, including familiarity with clinical data sets.
- Excellent communication skills to bridge the gap between technical implementation and clinical business needs.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $145,000 – $195,000 per year (Estimated)
