Role Overview: Oracle Hyperion Upgrade Specialist
Altitude Technology Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Oracle Hyperion Upgrade Consultant for a critical 6-month remote engagement. As we move into 2026, the landscape of enterprise performance management (EPM) continues to evolve, requiring experts who can navigate the complexities of legacy system upgrades and cloud transitions. This role is specifically focused on the planning, design, and execution of upgrade activities for Oracle Hyperion Essbase and Planning 11.1.2 environments, ensuring that financial systems remain robust, secure, and high-performing.
Key Responsibilities and Technical Scope
- Strategic Upgrade Planning: You will be responsible for analyzing existing Hyperion architectures to prepare comprehensive migration and upgrade strategies. This includes creating detailed documentation that outlines the roadmap from legacy versions to modernized environments.
- System Installation and Configuration: Perform hands-on installation, configuration, and validation of Hyperion components across diverse infrastructure, including Windows Server and Red Hat Linux systems. Your expertise will ensure that the underlying platform is optimized for the specific needs of the finance department.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Act as a technical lead coordinating with Infrastructure, DBA, and Application teams. You will manage critical dependencies such as WebLogic, Oracle Database, and shared services to ensure a seamless integration process.
- Data and Metadata Migration: Execute the migration of complex data sets, metadata, calc scripts, business rules, and security configurations. Maintaining data integrity during the transition is paramount.
- Performance Tuning and Validation: Conduct rigorous pre- and post-upgrade validation. You will be tasked with performance tuning to resolve any latency issues and ensuring that the system meets the high-availability requirements of a 2026 enterprise environment.
- Environment Hardening: Implement security patching, environment hardening, and robust backup strategies as part of the upgrade lifecycle to protect sensitive financial data.
- Testing and Support: Lead System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), assisting functional teams in validating Planning and Essbase applications post-upgrade to ensure all business logic remains intact.

- Proven track record in Hyperion 11.1.2.x installations, configurations, and large-scale upgrades.
- Deep understanding of Hyperion Shared Services, Workspace, Calculation Manager, EPMA, and related integration components.
- Proficiency in both Windows Server and Red Hat Linux operating systems, including shell scripting and batch automation.
- Knowledge of WebLogic, Oracle Database, and integration points like ODI/FDMEE.
- Strong communication skills to translate technical complexities into actionable business insights for stakeholders.
