Job Description:
The client is seeking an experienced Oracle professional with expertise in IBM Guardium or similar tools for a 100% remote, 12+ months contract-to-hire (C2C) position. This role requires a minimum of 10 years of overall experience. The primary objective is to provide subject matter expertise to validate a solution being developed by the client and assess its impact on Oracle environments. The consultant will help assure customers that the solution will not interfere with their Oracle database operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Validate a proposed solution being developed by the client.
- Assess the overall impact of the solution when deployed in customer Oracle environments.
- Identify any implications or risks on the Oracle database side.
- Provide external validation and assurance to customers regarding solution compatibility with Oracle environments.
- Focus on solution validation rather than performance tuning.
Required Expertise:
- Deep Oracle database expertise across various versions.
- Strong understanding of Oracle architectures and features, including RAC and Data Guard.
- Experience with IBM Guardium or similar security/monitoring tools.
- Knowledge of how these tools operate and coexist with Oracle databases.
- Ability to evaluate integration impacts on database operations, validation, certification, and issue resolution.
- Industry-level expert capable of providing credible external validation.
Engagement Preferences:
- Consultant-led model is preferred.
- Preference for consultants located in PST time zone.
- Client will reach out for support as needed.
- Open to external validation involving customer environments if required.
Additional Notes:
- The current phase is development-focused; performance analysis is out of scope.
- The key requirement is the ability to assure customers that the solution does not interfere with Oracle database stability, operations, or integrations.
This is a remote contract role with a C2C employment type. The duration is expected to be 12+ months. While a specific hourly rate is not provided, market rates for such specialized roles typically range from $70-$100+ per hour depending on experience and client.
