Job Overview
Our organization is embarking on a critical strategic initiative to replace the existing Control-D software, a system currently used for enterprise report distribution and scheduling. We are seeking a skilled PeopleSoft Business Analyst to play a key role in implementing a modern, scalable solution that will enhance operational efficiency, improve reporting capabilities, and align with current technology standards. This role requires a blend of on-site presence and remote work flexibility after an initial probationary period.
Project Goals
- Assess current Control-D usage, workflows, and dependencies across all business units.
- Define comprehensive functional and technical requirements for the new reporting solution.
- Identify and address gaps and opportunities for process improvement during the migration phase.
- Support the vendor evaluation and selection process for the replacement tool.
- Ensure seamless integration of the new solution with existing systems, adhering to strict security and regulatory standards.
Scope of Work for Business Analyst
- Requirements Gathering: Collaborate closely with stakeholders from various business units to meticulously document current processes, identify pain points, and define future needs for the reporting system.
- Process Analysis: Map existing Control-D workflows in detail and propose optimized, efficient processes for the new solution, focusing on user experience and operational effectiveness.
- Documentation: Create and maintain detailed business requirements documents (BRDs), functional specifications, and user stories that clearly articulate the system’s behavior and user interactions.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate and lead workshops, meetings, and interviews to ensure alignment between business objectives and technical implementations, fostering strong communication channels.
- Testing Support: Assist the QA team in developing comprehensive test cases and validating the functionality of the new system during the implementation and testing phases.
Mandatory Qualifications
- A minimum of six years of experience in business analysis, with demonstrated expertise in at least five of the following knowledge areas (as defined by the IIBA BABOK Guide): Business Analysis Planning and Monitoring, Elicitation and Collaboration, Requirements Life Cycle Management, Strategy Analysis, Requirements Analysis and Design Definition, and Solution Evaluation.
- Six or more years of experience in reading, writing, and understanding SQL queries.
- Six or more years of experience with PeopleSoft architecture and table structures, demonstrating a deep understanding of its components.
- Four or more years of experience performing business analysis specifically within any PeopleSoft module.
- Four or more years of experience facilitating requirements and design sessions with end-user communities, ensuring their needs are met.
Work Arrangement Details
- Work Location: 110 State St., Albany, NY. This position is for NY State Payroll Services.
- Duration: 12 months, with a strong potential for extension.
- Work Arrangement: An initial one-month probationary period requires on-site work at the Albany location. Following this period, a hybrid work arrangement with up to 50% remote work may be available.
- Schedule: 40 hours per week, typically during business hours (8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.).

Compensation & Location
