Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced PeopleSoft Technical Architect for a critical 6-month onsite engagement in Columbus, Ohio. This role is pivotal in maintaining and upgrading our enterprise PeopleSoft environment, ensuring high availability, performance, and security across all modules. The ideal candidate will possess a deep technical understanding of PeopleSoft architecture and PeopleTools, with a proven track record of managing complex installations and upgrades.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical architecture, design, and administration of PeopleSoft applications, specifically focusing on versions 9.x and PeopleTools 8.5x.
  • Execute end-to-end installations and configurations of PeopleSoft application environments.
  • Manage change management processes using PUM (PeopleSoft Update Manager) and Change Assistant, including the application of bundles, patches, and maintenance packs.
  • Oversee comprehensive PeopleSoft upgrades, encompassing both PeopleTools and application-level enhancements.
  • Configure and maintain PeopleSoft Change Assistant templates for streamlined tools and application upgrades.
  • Provide expert-level support for Integration Broker (IB) setup, configuration, and complex troubleshooting of IB failures.
  • Maintain Oracle and PeopleSoft environments, including monitoring, backup and recovery, job scheduling, and release management.
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure-related issues across PeopleSoft servers and environmental components.
  • Deliver technical architecture documentation, hardware sizing solutions, and infrastructure deliverables based on functional requirements.
  • Perform environment refreshes, cloning, and migrations of applications, database scripts, SQR, and other critical scripts.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot Oracle WebLogic server performance and connectivity.
  • Automate routine environment monitoring and maintenance tasks using Shell scripting.
  • Utilize Autosys for job scheduling and write JIL scripts to manage batch processing.
  • Implement and support Fluid technology features where applicable to enhance user experience.

Technical Requirements

  • Extensive experience with PeopleSoft Architecture and PeopleTools 8.5x.
  • Hands-on expertise in PeopleSoft PUM upgrades and Change Assistant.
  • Strong proficiency in PL/SQL and Shell scripting for automation.
  • Deep knowledge of North American Payroll tax updates.
  • Experience with Autosys job scheduling and JIL scripting.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work onsite in Columbus, OH, and meet strict project deadlines.

Special Requirements

Onsite requirement in Columbus, OH; 6-month contract duration.


Compensation & Location

Salary: $155,000 – $195,000 per year (Estimated)
