Role Overview

The PeopleSoft Technical Consultant will be a key player in the digital transformation and maintenance of enterprise-level Human Capital Management (HCM) and Financial Supply Chain Management (FSCM) systems. This role is specifically tailored for the New York City market, requiring a hybrid presence for local candidates in the NY/NJ area. As we move into 2026, the complexity of PeopleSoft environments continues to grow, necessitating experts who can bridge the gap between legacy stability and modern integration needs. The consultant will work within a high-stakes environment where system reliability directly impacts thousands of employees and financial transactions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the integration of new PeopleSoft modules including Time and Labor, eProcurement, Budget, and Financials into existing production environments.
  • Provide comprehensive support for the PeopleSoft production system, focusing on Human Resources, Benefits, and Payroll modules to ensure zero downtime for critical business operations.
  • Execute Oracle DBA support tasks specifically optimized for PeopleSoft application performance and data integrity.
  • Develop and implement customizations to PeopleSoft code using PeopleTools, PeopleCode, and Application Engine to meet evolving business requirements.
  • Manage the application of upgrades, patches, and fixes (PUM images) while troubleshooting complex processing issues.
  • Design and generate advanced reports using SQR and XML/BI Publisher to provide stakeholders with actionable data insights.
  • Enhance user interfaces and system functionality through the strategic application of JavaScript and jQuery within the PeopleSoft framework.
  • Coordinate problem-solving efforts and research potential processing issues to implement data manipulation and correction scripts.

Technical Requirements & Qualifications

The ideal candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A minimum of three years of full-time, paid experience as a PeopleSoft integrator and support analyst is mandatory. Technical proficiency must include deep knowledge of PeopleTools, PeopleCode, Application Engine, Component Interface, and SQR. Furthermore, specific experience with FSCM 9.2 and Procurement functionality is highly desired for this long-term contract engagement. Proficiency in modern web technologies like JavaScript and jQuery is increasingly important for the 2026 PeopleSoft landscape.

Professional Attributes

Beyond technical skills, the consultant must demonstrate strong initiative and leadership capabilities. The ability to work independently in a high-pressure NYC environment while maintaining a collaborative spirit within a team is essential. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required to document technical scripts and coordinate with non-technical business units. This position demands a high level of responsibility and dedication to maintaining the integrity of the organization’s core ERP systems. Candidates must be prepared for a hybrid work model, requiring regular on-site presence in NYC.
