Job Overview
Grant Thornton is seeking a Project Manager/Smartsheet Expert/AI Guru to come onboard to help manage innovation/AI projects and streamline and optimize PMO operations.
Responsibilities
- Support the development and continuous improvement of innovation frameworks, including ideation pipelines, innovation scoring models, and proof-of-concept (PoC) evaluation criteria.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess feasibility, impact, and ROI of innovative solutions, ensuring alignment with strategic business goals.
- Partner with Finance, Product, Engineering, and Change Management teams to design and implement innovative solutions that address complex business challenges.
- Facilitate innovation workshops and brainstorming sessions to foster a culture of creativity and continuous improvement across the Finance organization.
- Develop and maintain innovation dashboards KPIs, and reporting mechanisms to track progress, adoption, and value realization of innovation initiatives (via Alteryx, Power BI, Tableau, Power Query).
- Designing and implementing an efficient, automated workflow solution to consolidate intake requests from multiple teams and tools into a unified system.
- Leveraging AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini) and automation platforms (e.g., Smartsheet Super-user, Zapier, AirTable, Google Sheets, Jira) to streamline and optimize PMO operations.
- Collaborating closely with a Program Manager for day-to-day direction, while aligning with the strategic vision set by the Director.
- Integrating and maintaining tools and systems to support scalable, data-driven decision-making within the PMO.
- Consolidating innovation efforts across the Finance domain.
- AI optimization will be a major focus of the remainder of the contract term, along with tooling build and enhancement.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a PMO Analyst or Project Manager at a large organization.
- Smartsheet Expertise: experience with high-level advisory and hands-on configuration.
- AI Expertise: experience leveraging AI tools (ChatGPT, Gemini) and automation platforms (Smartsheet Super-user, Zapier, AirTable, Google Sheets, Jira) to streamline and optimize PMO operations.
- High Technical Acumen: proven ability to quickly learn and adapt to other tools, such as Coda and Airtable. This will include AI utilization and optimization. A core part of the remit will be to find ways to deploy AI agents in our PM workflows.
- Adaptability: ability to manage routine tasks (BAU) at a granular level while successfully navigating and exercising judgment on larger, more ambiguous “big ticket” projects–all while ensuring we are completely aligned.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $70,000 – $120,000 per year (Estimated)
