Job Description: Power BI Developer/Admin
Seeking a versatile Power BI professional capable of managing both administration and development responsibilities to support business intelligence initiatives. This role ensures optimal platform performance, security, and user experience while also building effective solutions and reports. Detail-oriented individual with Power BI System Administrator experience to partner with our offshore Power BI System Administer to manage and maintain our multiple Power Bi Premium Capacity instances that are part of clients overall Power BI tenant. Responsibilities will include configuring, monitoring, and optimizing these instances and working with the Enterprise team to ensure they meet the needs of our organization and its users. Individual will also participate in Power BI development projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deployments: Manage and coordinate the deployment of Power BI reports, Power Automate Flows, Power Apps, dashboards, datasets, and workspaces, ensuring accuracy and consistency across environments.
- System Management: Oversee the administration and configuration of the environment, including user access, security settings, workspace management, and system performance.
- Development and Design: Develop, design, and deploy dashboards, reports, datasets, and data models to meet business requirements including data integration from multiple sources (SQL, Excel, cloud services, etc.).
- Monitoring: Implement monitoring solutions to track system performance, usage patterns, and potential issues, ensuring high availability and reliability.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to Power BI, collaborating with Data, Enterprise, and other teams as necessary.
- Security and Compliance: Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and industry standards, managing user roles and permissions within Power BI.
- Capacity Planning: Project future needs for Power BI resources and plan for capacity expansion as needed.
- Platform Performance Monitoring: Monitor environment for spikes and anomalies in usage and collaborate on remediation.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 5-7 years experience as a system administrator or similar role, specifically with Power BI.
- Strong knowledge of Power BI architecture, administration, and security practices.
- Proficiency in SQL and understanding of data connectivity and integration.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with other BI tools and platforms.
- Familiarity with cloud services and Azure.
- Power BI certification(s) are a plus.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $100,000 – $140,000 per year
