Position Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Power BI Lead to join our team in Franklin, TN. This is a high-impact role requiring a minimum of 15 years of experience in the IT industry, with a deep specialization in business intelligence and data visualization. As the Power BI Lead, you will be responsible for driving the technical direction of our reporting platforms, working directly with business users to translate complex requirements into elegant, actionable technical solutions. This role requires a blend of technical mastery, design thinking, and strategic leadership to ensure our data ecosystem provides maximum value to the enterprise.

Core Responsibilities

  • Power BI Leadership: Lead the design and implementation of advanced Power BI solutions, including DAX optimization, Power Query transformations, and the creation of efficient Dataflows. You will be the subject matter expert for semantic model design.
  • Dashboard Design & UI/UX: Apply strong skills in wireframe design and UI/UX principles to create intuitive, high-performance dashboards. You will ensure that data visualization principles are followed to provide clear insights to executive stakeholders.
  • Business Engagement: Act as a primary point of contact for business users. You will lead business conversations independently, gathering requirements and managing expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Data Modeling: Design and maintain sophisticated data models, utilizing star schema principles and optimizing fact and dimension tables for reporting performance.
  • Cloud Integration: Oversee the integration of Power BI with cloud data platforms, specifically AWS and Snowflake. You will ensure that the reporting architecture is scalable and aligns with enterprise data governance standards.
  • Agile Delivery: Work within an Agile environment, participating in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives to ensure timely delivery of high-quality reporting products.
  • ETL & Data Engineering: Collaborate with data engineering teams to understand and influence ETL processes, ensuring that the underlying data structures support the reporting needs of the business.
  • Tableau Expertise: Utilize your knowledge of Tableau to support legacy dashboards and apply best practices across multiple visualization platforms where necessary.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Industry Experience: At least 15+ years of professional experience in the IT industry, with a significant portion dedicated to Business Intelligence.
  • Technical Stack: Expert-level hands-on experience with Power BI (DAX, Power Query, Dataflows) and a strong understanding of the AWS and Snowflake data ecosystems.
  • Visualization Principles: Deep knowledge of dashboarding best practices, wireframing, and user-centric design for data applications.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to drive business conversations and present technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Architecture: Solid understanding of enterprise reporting architecture, data governance, and data modeling concepts.

This position is located in Franklin, TN, and requires being onsite from Day 1. Compensation & Location

Salary: $140,000 – $185,000 per year (Estimated)

Location: Franklin, TN
