- Design the semantic layer: Establish KPI, metric, and attribute definitions; model subject domains; and define publish/refresh patterns for certified data sources powering Tableau. Ensure lineage, documentation, and catalog updates are part of the flow.
- Ensure performance, quality, security, and governance: Optimize query plans and cache/aggregation strategies; establish validation and parity frameworks for side-by-side comparisons and quality assurance; design RBAC patterns across Databricks and Tableau Cloud; enforce content certification, promotion workflows, and usage monitoring.
- Enable adoption: Establish foundational capabilities for AI usage of data; run office hours and coach analysts and authors on patterns for scalable, governed self-service in Tableau Cloud.
- Data Architecture Management: Design and maintain the organization’s data architecture, including databases, data warehouses, and data lakes.
- Data Modeling: Develop data models, schemas, and metadata frameworks to support business requirements.
- Data Governance: Establish data governance policies, standards, and best practices across the organization.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineers, and analysts to understand data needs.
- Performance Optimization: Optimize data storage, retrieval, and integration processes for performance and scalability.
