Position Summary
NSD International INC is seeking a Principal Technical Architect for Network Solutions to lead high-level architectural initiatives in Los Angeles, CA. This is a senior-level leadership role designed for a subject matter expert who can provide deep technical expertise in the design, development, and implementation of complex campus and branch network solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining the long-term technical vision, validating intricate designs, and ensuring that all architectural solutions meet rigorous functional and non-functional requirements, including security, scalability, and high-performance metrics. This role involves significant interaction with sports venues in the Los Angeles area, requiring a professional who is mobile and ready to engage with physical infrastructure environments.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end design and evolution of core network solutions for campus and branch environments, defining the technical vision and standards.
- Conduct comprehensive system design activities to ensure architectural solutions align with technical requirements and strategic business goals.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), providing guidance on network solutions to internal teams and stakeholders while staying current with emerging technologies.
- Drive complex network modernization and migration projects, from lab validation and pilot phases to full-scale deployment and cutover planning.
- Partner with business leaders and engineering teams to translate business requirements into effective technical designs.
- Implement and operationalize policy-based automation and network segmentation strategies using Cisco SD-Access and Cisco ACI.
- Create and maintain high-level and low-level design (HLD/LLD) documents, operational runbooks, and ‘as-built’ records.
- Mentor and guide junior technical staff, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
- Communicate architectural concepts and design decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including executive leadership.
Technical Environment and Requirements
The technical landscape for this role is centered on cutting-edge Cisco technologies. You will be expected to have expert-level knowledge of routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and multicast for large-scale enterprise environments. A significant portion of the work involves Cisco Software-Defined Access (SD-Access) architecture and implementation, utilizing Catalyst Center (formerly DNA Center) for automation and assurance. Furthermore, deep implementation experience with Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) and Identity Services Engine (ISE) for TrustSec-based segmentation is mandatory. Given the nature of the sports venue environments, experience with high-density wireless networking and robust network security (Cisco FTD, IDS/IPS) is critical for success.
Qualifications
Candidates must possess an active CCIE certification with valid credentials for verification; a CCIE in Service Provider is highly preferred. We require a minimum of 10 years of experience in enterprise networking, with a proven track record in network architecture and design. Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills are a must, as you will be required to build consensus and influence technical direction across multiple teams. This is a 12-month Contract-to-Hire (CTH) position, offering a path to permanent employment for the right candidate. While we prefer local Los Angeles candidates, we are open to non-local candidates willing to relocate from day one.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $185,000 – $255,000 per year
