Role Overview: Product Manager – Payments Platform

As we move into 2026, the landscape of digital commerce and financial technology is evolving at an unprecedented pace. We are seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Product Manager to join the PWLI team as a Senior Associate. This role is central to the development and execution of cutting-edge payment solutions that serve millions of customers and merchants. You will be responsible for bridging the gap between complex business requirements and technical implementation, ensuring that our payment platforms remain reliable, scalable, and user-centric.

Key Responsibilities and Strategic Impact

  • End-to-End Product Lifecycle Management: You will own the product delivery lifecycle from initial ideation and conceptualization through to production and post-launch optimization. This includes defining clear product goals, establishing measurable KPIs, and translating high-level strategies into actionable user stories and process flows.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Success in this role requires seamless integration with Technology, Design, Analytics, and Risk partners. You will lead these diverse teams to deliver platform strategies from 0-1, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
  • Technical Depth and Execution: Unlike traditional product roles, this position requires a deep dive into technical details. You will work closely with engineering teams to ensure technical designs align with customer needs, conduct pre-release reviews, and manage the product backlog with an agile mindset.
  • Risk and Compliance: Operating within the financial services sector necessitates a relentless focus on risk and controls. You will collaborate with Legal and Compliance teams to ensure all products meet stringent regulatory standards while maintaining a seamless customer journey.

The Future of Payments in 2026

The payments industry is currently defined by the integration of digital wallets, real-time money movement, and advanced API ecosystems. In this role, you will be at the forefront of these changes, leveraging your expertise to build platforms that not only solve current merchant problems but also anticipate future market shifts. Your ability to think strategically while maintaining an obsessive attention to detail will be the foundation of our digital payment experiences. We are looking for a leader who is not afraid to challenge the status quo and who can drive development in a highly matrixed, large-scale organization.

Qualifications for Success

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial services or product management, with a strong preference for candidates coming from a Fintech or payment platform background.
  • Proven track record of enabling change within large organizations and managing stakeholders across multiple functions including architecture and engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of APIs, modern engineering practices, and the full SDLC using Agile methodologies.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Business Administration.

Special Requirements

Onsite NYC; Payment domain restriction; Fintech background preferred; PWLI team focus.
