About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Interface Systems Analyst to join our team in Richmond, Virginia. This role is crucial for coordinating with multiple Medicaid Enterprise System (MES) vendors to manage the exchange of all electronic data and interfaces. You will be responsible for analyzing data structures, providing guidance on data mapping, and reviewing configurations and coding developed for managing exchanges between various MES Modules and Trading Partners. The position will also support Interface Testing and End-to-End Testing.

This role requires strong coordination skills, a solid understanding of SFTP/HTTPS protocols, batch file processing, DevOps practices, EDI standards, the SDLC process, and Agile methodology. The Analyst must be able to work independently while collaborating effectively with both technical and business teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Business and Technical teams to understand requirements, design elements, and changes impacting the MMIS and MES modules.
  • Analyze data structures and provide guidance on data mapping.
  • Review configurations and coding developed for managing exchanges between various MES Modules and Trading Partners.
  • Understand interface workflows, file transfers (SFTP/HTTPS), and system integration points.
  • Develop test plans and test cases and work closely with DMAS external vendors to set up and execute interface testing, Trading Partner Testing, and End-to-End Testing activities.
  • Coordinate, direct, and execute Interface testing, Trading Partner Testing, and End-to-End Testing across multiple systems and vendors.
  • Develop comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test data to validate software changes.
  • Monitor schedules, track execution progress, and communicate risks or issues promptly.
  • Lead defect triage calls involving multiple vendors and ensure defects are tracked to closure efficiently.
  • Serve as a liaison between DMAS Vendors, Business users, and DMAS MES Module vendors to troubleshoot and resolve escalated issues.
  • Perform Interface Testing and verify integration behaviors across file transfers.
  • Prepare and deliver test results, execution metrics, and summary reports to DMAS Leadership.
  • Escalate issues appropriately and ensure proper documentation and tracking through resolution.
  • Maintain high levels of professionalism, integrity, customer service, and accountability in all assigned tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead defect management and triage sessions across multiple teams and vendors.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience working closely with Business and Technical teams to understand requirements, design elements, and changes impacting MMIS and MES modules.
  • 5+ years of experience analyzing data structures and providing guidance on data mapping.
  • 5+ years of experience with interface workflows, file transfers (SFTP/HTTPS), and system integration points.
  • 8+ years of experience coordinating, directing, and executing Interface testing, Trading Partner Testing, and End-to-End Testing across multiple systems and vendors.
  • 8+ years of experience developing test plans and test cases and working with external vendors to set up and execute testing.
  • 8+ years of strong communication skills, with the ability to report progress, summarize test outcomes, and interact effectively with diverse stakeholder groups.
  • 8+ years of experience managing deadlines, maintaining organization, and working independently with minimal supervision.
  • 8+ years of experience monitoring schedules, tracking execution progress, and communicating risks or issues promptly.
  • 8+ years of experience performing Interface Testing and verifying integration behaviors across file transfers and system handoffs.
  • 8+ years of experience leading defect triage calls involving multiple vendors and ensuring defects are tracked to closure efficiently.
  • Good understanding of EDI transactions.
  • Experience with State Government is highly preferred.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $90,000 – $130,000 per year (Estimated)

Location: Richmond, VA
