Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager 3 to lead a multi-year modernization project for a state government client. This role requires extensive experience in change management, vendor management, and Microsoft DevOps. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement, with specific days in the office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a complex, multi-year modernization project, ensuring delivery within scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Oversee change management and vendor management activities.
  • Collaborate closely with DTMB Agency Services management, technical teams, business stakeholders, and the Office of Retirement Services (ORS) EPMO Program team.
  • Adopt the ORS culture of collaboration and utilize Agile Scrum methodologies, acting as a servant leader.
  • Monitor and communicate project progress, managing cost, schedule, scope, resources, quality, and risks.
  • Understand business and technical objectives, working closely with Product Owners.
  • Provide clear, timely, and accurate communications to stakeholders, including the Modernization Steering Team and project team members.
  • Manage vendor interactions and ensure adherence to vendor deliverable approval procedures.
  • Foster collaborative participation between technical and business teams, advocating for project success.
  • Prepare status reports for the Modernization Steering Team and present project status in steering meetings.
  • Develop and maintain key SUITE Project Management Methodology (PMM) deliverables.
  • Actively identify, evaluate, and mitigate project risks and issues, escalating as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to the Change Management process and develop Corrective Action Plans (CAP) when necessary.
  • Understand project benefits and the impact of change requests on business cases.
  • Ensure project adherence to IT governance activities and manage project interdependencies.
  • Complete the project tailoring process to determine PMM and SEM deliverables.
  • Facilitate interactions among stakeholders, clarifying expectations and ensuring deliverable completion.

Required Qualifications:

  • 13+ years of overall experience.
  • 5+ years of experience managing projects with budgets greater than $20 million.
  • 5+ years of Agile Scrum experience (documented in resume).
  • Past 5 years of experience must be as a Project Manager working on IT Projects.
  • Documented experience managing an IT project in a large, complex enterprise-governed IT ecosystem.
  • Passion for collaboration and working in a team environment.
  • Experience working with other project managers to ensure technology integration between systems.
  • Must be local to Lansing, Michigan area (within 1 hour).
  • Provide name and US telephone number of three professional references that can speak to IT project management experience.

Special Requirements

Interviews: First Round- Virtual interview via MS Teams (video required). Candidates should join from a laptop and be prepared to share their screen if requested. Work Arrangement: Hybrid. Must be local to Lansing, Michigan area (within 1 hour). Work will be Tuesday and Wednesday in office. Monday, Thursday, and Friday can be remote (non-negotiable).


Compensation & Location

Salary: $110,000 – $150,000 per year (Estimated)

Location: Lansing, MI
