Job Title: Project Manager 3
Our State client is seeking a highly experienced Project Manager 3 to join their team in Lansing, MI. This is a hybrid role with a strong emphasis on onsite collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage projects with budgets exceeding $20 million, ensuring successful delivery within scope, schedule, and budget constraints.
- Utilize Agile Scrum methodologies, with at least 5 years of documented experience.
- Oversee IT projects, demonstrating a deep understanding of large, complex enterprise-governed IT ecosystems.
- Foster a collaborative team environment and work closely with other project managers to ensure seamless technology integration.
- Monitor and communicate project progress, actively managing cost, schedule, scope, resources, quality, and risks.
- Understand business and technical objectives, working closely with Product Owners.
- Maintain clear, timely, and accurate communications with stakeholders, including the Modernization Steering Team, project team members, program manager, and Agency/DTMB management.
- Facilitate efficient and effective ongoing communication with vendors throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide leadership and foster collaborative participation between technical and business teams, gaining consensus and commitment. Advocate as necessary to ensure project success.
- Prepare and present project status reports to the Modernization Steering Team and in regularly scheduled program steering meetings.
- Develop and maintain key SUITE Project Management Methodology (PMM) deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.
- Actively evaluate the project to anticipate, identify, evaluate, and mitigate project risks and issues, escalating as needed.
- Ensure adherence to the Change Management process, managing deviations from approved scope, schedule, or budget.
- Create project Corrective Action Plans (CAP) for projects in yellow or red status.
- Understand project benefits and the impact of change requests on business cases, ensuring related artifacts are updated.
- Ensure project team adherence to IT governance activities.
- Understand project interdependencies and ensure appropriate discussions and actions occur when changes may have an impact.
- Complete the project tailoring process to determine PMM and SEM deliverables.
- Review and understand vendor contracts to manage vendor deliverables and adherence to approval procedures.
- Facilitate interactions among stakeholders by clarifying expectations and ensuring all deliverables are assigned, reviewed, and completed.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience managing projects with budgets greater than $20 million.
- 5+ years Agile Scrum experience (documented in resume).
- Past 5 years of experience must be as a Project Manager working on IT Projects.
- Documented experience managing an IT project in a large, complex enterprise-governed IT ecosystem.
- Passion for collaboration and working in a team environment.
- Experience working with other project managers to ensure technology integration between systems.
- Must be local to the Lansing, Michigan area (within a 1-hour commute).
- Provide the name and US telephone number of three professional references who can speak to IT project management experience.
- Address on Michigan driver’s license will be verified prior to interview.

Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ years of Microsoft DevOps experience.
- Previous state government experience is highly desired.
Work Schedule:
- Hybrid Work Schedule (Non-Negotiable): No remote-only option.
- Required onsite days: Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
- Remote eligible days: Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
Interview Process:
- First Round: Virtual interview via MS Teams (video required). Candidates should join from a laptop and be prepared to share their screen if requested. Interviews are expected to begin the week of 3/30.
- Second Round: In-person interview at 530 W Allegan St, Lansing, MI, anticipated during the week of 4/6.
Assignment Details:
- Initial 1-year contract with a possibility of extension based on performance and business needs.
