About the Role:
We are seeking a seasoned, results-driven Senior Project Manager and Scrum Master to lead the end-to-end delivery of high-impact technology and finance initiatives across our enterprise. This is a strategic leadership role suited for a professional who thrives at the intersection of financial services domain knowledge and modern delivery methodologies. The ideal candidate will bring 12+ years of progressive experience managing complex programs spanning cloud migration, SaaS platform delivery, regulatory compliance, and enterprise data systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program & Project Delivery
- Lead end-to-end delivery of complex, cross-functional technology and finance programs using both Agile (SAFe/Scrum) and Waterfall methodologies.
- Manage large-scale cloud migration and infrastructure modernization projects (e.g., AWS, Azure) with budgets exceeding $10M.
- Oversee SaaS platform delivery, coordinating monthly sprint cycles with 50+ concurrent features, enhancements, and bug fixes.
- Drive on-time, on-budget delivery across all project milestones, maintaining a track record of 100% sprint delivery rates.
- Manage regulatory compliance programs and coordinate responses to legislative changes affecting enterprise platforms.
- Agile Leadership & Scrum Mastery
- Serve as Scrum Master for multiple agile squads, facilitating sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and sprint reviews.
- Champion SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) practices across program increments, ensuring alignment between business goals and delivery teams.
- Coach and mentor delivery teams on agile principles, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
- Manage product backlogs, prioritize user stories, and align stakeholders on delivery sequencing and trade-offs.
- Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with DevOps, QA, Security, Infrastructure, Architecture, and Business teams to ensure seamless delivery coordination.
- Communicate program status, risks, and escalations to executive leadership and C-suite stakeholders with clarity and confidence.
- Lead requirements gathering and business analysis sessions, translating complex financial and technical requirements into actionable delivery plans.
- Risk, Governance & Reporting
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks proactively; maintain comprehensive risk registers and issue logs.
- Manage penetration testing coordination and ensure security and compliance gates are met prior to each release.
- Produce executive-level reporting using tools such as Clarity PPM, JIRA, Confluence, and Azure DevOps.
- Ensure audit-readiness and documentation standards are maintained across all project deliverables.
- Data & Financial Systems Expertise
- Oversee implementation and integration of enterprise data platforms, investment systems, and financial data warehouses supporting 20TB+ of data.
- Collaborate with financial domain SMEs and technology architects on platforms such as Aladdin (BlackRock), FactSet, Bloomberg, and Capital IQ.
- Support KYC remediation, fraud detection systems, and compliance tooling programs within regulated financial environments.
Required Qualifications:
- 12+ years of progressive experience as a Project Manager and/or Scrum Master, with a focus on financial services technology programs.
- Demonstrated expertise managing Agile (SAFe/Scrum) and Waterfall projects simultaneously in enterprise environments.
- Proven track record delivering cloud migration programs (AWS and/or Azure) at scale ($10M+ budget programs).
- Deep domain knowledge in Asset Management, Wealth Management, Investment Banking, Commercial or Retail Banking, or Insurance.
- Hands-on experience with JIRA, Confluence, Azure DevOps, Clarity PPM, MS Project, and MS SharePoint.
- Familiarity with financial platforms including Aladdin, Bloomberg, FactSet, and/or Capital IQ.
- Experience managing regulatory compliance initiatives and enterprise security requirements (e.g., penetration testing, KYC, data governance).
- Strong executive communication skills with demonstrated ability to manage complex stakeholder landscapes.
- Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or related field from an accredited institution.
Preferred Qualifications:
- SAFe (Scaled Agile) certification or equivalent Agile certification (CSM, PMI-ACP, PSM).
- Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation or progress toward CFA, demonstrating deep financial acumen.
- MBA from a top-tier business school, with strong quantitative and analytical grounding.
- Experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager, with direct accountability for backlog ownership and stakeholder alignment.
- Exposure to SaaS product delivery platforms, including Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), PEGA applications, or similar enterprise platforms.
- Demonstrated entrepreneurial mindset with experience in startup or high-growth technology environments.
- Working knowledge of SQL, data modeling, or business intelligence tools in support of data-driven project delivery.
- Experience managing cross-border and multi-jurisdictional programs (US and Canada).
