Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Python Data Engineer to join our enterprise data team in Dallas, TX. This is a critical role focused on the development and optimization of high-performance data pipelines and automation solutions. In the landscape of 2026, data engineering has evolved beyond simple ETL tasks; it now requires a deep technical mastery of the Python ecosystem and its application within complex, large-scale cloud environments. You will be responsible for bridging the gap between raw data sources and actionable business intelligence by leveraging modern cloud technologies like AWS and Snowflake.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust automation solutions using Python to streamline data processing and API integrations across the enterprise.
- Architect and implement scalable data pipelines within the Snowflake Data Cloud, ensuring high availability, data integrity, and peak performance.
- Utilize AWS services to host and orchestrate data workflows, focusing on serverless architectures, Lambda functions, and containerized deployments.
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries and stored procedures in SQL Server to support both legacy systems and modern data architectures.
- Collaborate closely with business process owners to translate manual, error-prone workflows into fully automated, fault-tolerant software solutions.
- Implement rigorous testing frameworks using PyTest and ensure code quality through automated CI/CD pipelines and Git version control.
- Monitor system performance, perform root cause analysis on data discrepancies, and optimize resource utilization across hybrid cloud environments.
- Develop and maintain documentation for data architecture, process flows, and security protocols.
Technical Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in software engineering or data engineering roles within an enterprise environment.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience with the Python ecosystem, specifically using libraries like Pandas, SQLAlchemy, Requests, and PyTest.
- Proven expertise in Snowflake SQL, including data pipeline interactions and performance tuning.
- Strong proficiency in AWS cloud services, including IAM, S3, Lambda, Glue, and Athena.
- Solid understanding of relational database management systems (RDBMS), particularly SQL Server, including troubleshooting performance issues.
- Experience with enterprise-grade security practices, secure deployment methodologies, and secret management.
The Future of Data Engineering
As we move further into 2026, the role of the Data Engineer encompasses full-stack automation and deep integration with cloud-native data warehouses. This position requires an individual who understands the nuances of data gravity and the importance of low-latency data processing. By joining our team, you will be at the forefront of this transformation, building systems that handle petabytes of data with precision. We value continuous learning and provide opportunities to work with the latest AWS features as they are released. Our focus on local talent in Texas ensures a strong team culture and the ability to collaborate in person on complex architectural challenges.
