About the Role:
We are looking for a skilled Python Developer with extensive experience in Big Data platforms and SQL to join our team. This is a hybrid role, requiring 3 days a week onsite in Charlotte, NC. The position offers a contract duration of 6-24 months with the potential to convert to a permanent role. You will be instrumental in developing and maintaining our data processing pipelines and ensuring the integrity and efficiency of our data systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain robust Python applications and scripts.
- Design, build, and optimize data processing pipelines using Big Data technologies such as Spark and Hadoop.
- Write complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
- Experience with RDS (Relational Database Service) is a must.
- Develop and interact with APIs, both consuming existing ones and designing new ones.
- Perform data processing tasks including joining, merging, transforming, and summarizing data.
- Design and implement data control checks to ensure data quality and integrity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data pipelines and applications.
- Contribute to the overall architecture and design of data solutions.
Must-Have Skills:
- Python
- RDS (must have)
- PySpark
- SQL
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Proven experience with Big Data platforms/tools including Linux, HDFS, Hive, Hortonworks, Spark, Scala, Python, Java, Kafka, etc.
- Strong experience with APIs, including reading from and designing new ones.
- Proficiency in writing SQL and interacting with databases.
- Demonstrated experience in data processing (Join, Merge, Transform, Summarize, etc.).
- Ability to design and create data control checks.
- Experience with cloud platforms is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $100,000 – $140,000 per year (Estimated)
