Position Summary
We are forming a specialized team to build Model Context Protocol (MCP) connectors that enable scalable, production-grade generative AI integrations. This team is responsible for delivering a modular connector architecture, beginning with Databricks and Snowflake, to support a growing AI agent ecosystem. We are hiring a senior Python-focused MCP developer immediately to support a critical proof-of-concept deadline. These are hands-on engineering roles requiring deep Python expertise, strong MCP knowledge, and the ability to deliver independently within an evolving architecture. The role is based in Alpharetta, GA, with a hybrid schedule requiring at least two days per week onsite.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain MCP connectors for enterprise platforms, with an initial focus on Databricks and Snowflake.
- Develop clean, production-ready Python services and libraries supporting connector architecture.
- Integrate with a variety of third-party APIs, authentication models, and data sources.
- Contribute to early-stage architecture while delivering high-quality, production-grade code.
- Build and maintain unit tests, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment workflows.
- Collaborate with AI agent teams and technical leadership to align connector behavior with platform needs.
- Participate in in-office technical discussions, design reviews, and implementation planning.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong Python expertise with 5+ years of hands-on development experience.
- Direct MCP (Model Context Protocol) experience is required (approximately 1+ year preferred).
- Proven experience building production Python applications, moving beyond simple scripting.
- Solid understanding of Model Context Protocol concepts, behaviors, and lifecycle.
- Familiarity with or hands-on experience using the FastMCP library.
- Ability to work independently, own deliverables end-to-end, and contribute immediately.
- Experience working with REST APIs, authentication flows, and external vendor integrations.
- Working knowledge of SQL (Postgres preferred), CI/CD pipelines, and Git-based workflows.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building connectors or integrations for Databricks or Snowflake.
- Background in AI, LLM-based systems, or agent-driven architectures.
- Exposure to large-scale or multi-connector integration platforms.
Candidate Profile
We are explicitly avoiding candidates whose primary background is Java and are pivoting to Python. We require candidates who can demonstrate hands-on coding depth and independent problem-solving without over-reliance on AI coding tools. While tools like Copilot are acceptable, independent coding ability is mandatory. This role is ideal for a senior engineer who is passionate about the intersection of Python and Generative AI and wants to be at the forefront of the MCP ecosystem.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $140,000 – $190,000 per year (Estimated)
