Job Title: QA Automation Architect / Lead Playwright (Duck Creek Policy & Billing)
We are seeking a highly experienced QA Automation Architect / Lead with strong expertise in automation transformation, framework engineering, and hands-on experience in Playwright (TypeScript). The ideal candidate should have prior experience in Duck Creek Policy & Billing implementations and will be responsible for driving API-first automation strategy for commercial insurance products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Automation Strategy & Transformation
- Lead enterprise-wide automation transformation initiatives for Duck Creek implementations
- Define automation roadmap, maturity model, and adoption strategy
- Drive shift-left and API-first testing approach across Policy and Billing systems
- Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort and improve ROI through automation
- Framework Design & Engineering
- Architect and implement scalable, reusable automation frameworks using Playwright with TypeScript
- Build unified frameworks supporting:
- API automation (primary focus)
- UI automation (secondary layer)
- End-to-End business workflows
- Integrate frameworks with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, Jenkins)
- Ensure support for BDD (Cucumber) and data-driven testing
- Duck Creek Automation Implementation
- Design and implement automation for Duck Creek Policy & Billing APIs
- Automate key business flows across commercial lines:
- Submission, Quote, Bind, Issue
- Endorsements, Renewals, Cancellations
- Billing lifecycle (Account, Invoicing, Payments, Collections)
- Validate integrations with:
- Rating engines
- Underwriting rules
- External data providers
- Technical Leadership
- Provide hands-on leadership in framework development and code quality
- Conduct code reviews, design reviews, and automation governance
- Mentor teams on Playwright, API automation, and best practices
- Define and enforce coding standards and reusable components
- Quality Engineering & Continuous Improvement
- Drive automation coverage, execution stability, and performance optimization
- Analyze defects and production issues; perform root cause analysis (RCA)
- Establish metrics, dashboards, and reporting for automation effectiveness
- Continuously enhance framework capabilities and test efficiency
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Must-Have
- Strong expertise in test automation and framework development
- Proven experience in automation transformation initiatives
- Hands-on experience with Playwright (TypeScript) for API and UI automation
- Experience in Duck Creek Policy & Billing implementations
- Strong knowledge of:
- REST APIs, JSON, API validation
- BDD frameworks (Playwright BDD)
- CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, Jenkins)

- Experience managing distributed/onshore-offshore teams
Experience:
- 10-15 years in QA / Automation
- 4+ years in automation architecture / framework design
- Proven experience in Playwright-based automation frameworks
- Hands-on Duck Creek implementation experience

Compensation & Location
Salary: $75 – $95 per year (Estimated)
