Job Summary:
The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is seeking an experienced QA Engineer Automated 3 to perform advanced quality assurance and testing activities. This role is crucial for ensuring the quality and reliability of applications related to contract operations, contributing to the enhancement and modernization of systems used for contract management, monitoring, and compliance. The ideal candidate will possess strong experience in both manual and automated testing and demonstrate the ability to work independently on complex tasks with creativity and sound judgment. This is a hybrid position located in Austin, TX, requiring local candidates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright or similar tools.
- Perform manual testing when required to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
- Create and execute detailed test plans and test scenarios to validate application functionality.
- Track and report test case execution results accurately and efficiently.
- Schedule and manage automated test runs and associated reporting.
- Log, track, and manage defects using Jira, ensuring timely resolution.
- Develop and maintain requirements traceability matrices to ensure all requirements are tested.
- Support development teams across Dev, Test, UAT, and Production environments.
- Troubleshoot test scripts and resolve any identified issues.
- Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities when needed, ensuring stakeholder satisfaction.
- Participate actively in Agile/Scrum processes and foster team collaboration.
- Provide on-call support as required to address critical issues.
Required Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in QA and testing.
- 10 years of experience in manual test script execution.
- 8 years of experience in automated QA testing.
- 8 years of experience in QA test script creation.
- 8 years of experience in performance testing.
- Strong ability to work independently on complex tasks.
- Experience working in Agile environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in automated test case reporting.
- Experience with JavaScript, HTML, and testing tools such as Playwright, WebdriverIO, and JMeter.
- Experience with Agile tools like Jira, XRay, or Zephyr.
- Experience in accessibility testing.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $90,000 – $130,000 per year (Estimated)
