Position Summary
AE Talents Group is looking for a Senior QA Engineer / Automation Tester for a 6+ month contract role in Austin, Texas. This is a hybrid position requiring 2 days onsite (Monday and Thursday) at the Austin location. This role is strictly for candidates currently residing within a 50-mile radius of Austin, TX. The successful candidate will function as a Systems Analyst 2, focusing on deep expertise in Selenium-based functional automation testing and framework development.
Core Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust automated test scripts using Selenium WebDriver.
- Build and enhance automation frameworks from scratch, utilizing data-driven, hybrid, or BDD (Cucumber/SpecFlow) methodologies.
- Perform comprehensive functional, regression, integration, and system testing to ensure software quality.
- Analyze complex business requirements to create detailed test scenarios and test cases.
- Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and architects to clarify requirements and resolve defects.
- Integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions.
- Conduct API testing using tools such as Postman or RestAssured.
- Perform backend validation using strong SQL knowledge.
- Provide detailed test coverage analysis and quality metrics reporting to stakeholders.
Required Technical Skills
- Minimum 7 years of experience in Quality Assurance and automated testing.
- Expertise in Selenium WebDriver and Java (preferred), C#, or Python for scripting.
- Proven track record of building automation frameworks from the ground up.
- Strong understanding of functional testing principles and test case design techniques (boundary value, equivalence partitioning).
- Experience with TestNG, JUnit, Maven, Gradle, and Git.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments for at least 6 years.
- Ability to independently own testing for specific features or modules.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Selenium Grid and parallel execution.
- Testing experience with cloud-based applications on Azure or AWS.
- Exposure to performance testing tools like JMeter.
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker.
- Knowledge of security testing basics and microservices architecture testing.
Work Environment
This role requires a high degree of independence and technical leadership. You will be expected to identify alternative solutions, perform cost/benefit analyses, and write detailed descriptions of user needs. The project environment is fast-paced and requires strict adherence to onsite requirements in Austin. Candidates must be proactive in identifying problems and learning specific input/output requirements to improve existing computer systems.

Local to Austin area only (50-mile radius). Must already reside in Texas. Hybrid: 2 days onsite (Mon & Thurs).
Compensation & Location
Salary: $65 – $85 per year (Estimated)
