Role Overview
The Aetna IT Delivery organization, a critical division of CVS Health’s Data, Digital, Analytics, and Technology (DDAT) group, is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Quality Assurance Automation Engineer (Analyst Spec II). This position is based in Hartford, CT, and is specifically looking for local candidates. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining sophisticated automated testing solutions for virtual assistants and AI-driven agents. These digital solutions are essential for providing timely and accurate health insurance information to millions of members and providers across various digital channels.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement robust automation frameworks using industry-standard tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, and Appium.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts to support functional, regression, and performance testing cycles.
- Collaborate closely with developers and QA analysts to define comprehensive test coverage and understand complex application logic.
- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps to ensure rapid feedback loops.
- Manage the full defect lifecycle using JIRA or Azure DevOps, from identification and logging to verification and closure.
- Prepare detailed documentation, including test plans, test cases, and automation strategy reports for stakeholders.
- Stay at the forefront of emerging trends in AI-driven testing and GenAI tools to improve automation efficiency.
Technical Requirements
The ideal candidate must possess at least 3 years of professional experience in QA automation and software testing. Expertise in core programming concepts, particularly Java OOPs and Data Structures, is required, along with the ability to work across multiple languages like JavaScript or Python. Specific experience with conversational AI testing (chatbots and voice assistants) is highly preferred. Familiarity with automation tools such as Hammer On Demand and Cyara is a significant advantage. Candidates should be well-versed in BDD (Cucumber) and TDD methodologies.
Domain and Compliance
Given the nature of the work within CVS Health, knowledge of the Healthcare domain and HIPAA compliance is preferred. Experience evaluating AI models using metrics like F1-score, precision, and recall will be beneficial as the team moves toward more advanced agentic IDEs like Windsurf or Cursor. This role requires a proactive individual who can articulate technical concepts clearly and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced Agile environment.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $125,000 – $175,000 per year (Estimated)
